Patch 7.3.5 PTR - Allied Races Unlock Requirements
The latest PTR update updated the banners in both factions' embassies that list the unlock requirements for each Allied Race. These requirements are account wide and not faction specific, meaning you can earn them on an Alliance character and still unlock the Horde Allied Races and vice versa. On top of this, you need to have purchased Battle for Azeroth and have an existing 110 on the server in which you are creating an Allied Race.

Patrick "Vanion" Michalczak Passes Away
Patrick Michalczak ran the German WoW fansite Vanion.EU and passed away on January 2. It was always a pleasure to work with him and he will be missed.

The work on Vanion.eu will continue just like it has been the past few days. It is also too early to talk about the future of this site, but you will hear from us in the coming weeks. I wish the best for all community members that have to stomach this sudden announcement and suggest lighting a small candle, even just a tea light, in honor of Patrick "Vanion" Michaelczak today. That would be a lovely gesture.

    I'm waiting for the "horde" bias for unlocking the allied races. Its been what 2 years to get the rep for the horde ones but a few months for the alliance?

    News for you: you will unlock Dark Iron during questing in Kul Tiras. So it will be datamined in 8.0 Alpha, not 7.3.5 PTR.

    German news sites are saying it's a suspected accidental overdose but cannot rule out suicide due to "current events" that they don't wish to release to the public yet.

    As someone who works in psychology with "suicide survivors," it's never an accidental death when families/friends get angry to the question of "How'd they die?"

    To unlock void elves and lightforged Draenei, I'm assuming those factions are the last two introduced in Legion? I'll need to come back and play through all of Legion's final patch stuff and get to exalted to unlock them, yes?

    I think I've already got both Horde Allied Races unlocked and I don't have a single Horde character. D'oh!

    Hey if i have 2 of the achievments ( and the rep) on 1 char and then the 2 other achievments ( and rep) on another char i should be fine right ?

    Fuck pre-order being a requirement. Physical CE orders get screwed again.

    Why do we need to have an existing 110 on the server?

    I currently have all my characters on 2 servers... one horde, one alliance. All slots full of highly leveled characters. I don't have any 110 characters off on another realm, and I don't have any slots available to create a new character on the realms I play on.

    So, right now, unless I pay for a character transfer, I won't be able to level up the new races.

    I thought we were getting 6 character slots per server added?

    Yeah but it says you need to have a 110 on that server, which is why I'm wondering. All my 110s are one realm, all horde, where as my alliance are on the connected realm and aren't 110 yet.

    This has never and likely will never be a thing. Physical-CE preorders get nothing until the box arrives on their doorstep for 14 years.

    You can preorder digitally and order the physical CE as well. When the physical CE arrives, and you put in the key on your account, they will refund you the digital pre-order price. At least they have been last couple of expacs.

    They don’t actually refund you the price, they just give you new key you can sell/share/use yourself for a ‘free’ boost.

    Half hoping they’ll throw us a bone and open up pre-purchases for BFA when 7.3.5 goes live so I can start working on Void Elf Rogue and Mage. If not though, eh, I’ll just unsubscribe until they allow it (even if it means waiting for the expac to launch) as its pretty much the end of the cycle and having offed H Argus and no interest in bothering with Mythic raiding, the expansion is over for me personally till I can level my new stuff.
