Patch 7.3.5 PTR - Build 25826
Another build is on the way to the PTR!

On the PTR you can now turn in 1000 x Wakening Essence for Purified Titan Essence and 300 for Awoken Titan Essence.

Wakening Essence reward sources now reward roughly 6x more. For example, your first daily heroic dungeon now rewards 30, up from 5.

Why would you even try to have more grind to get a legendary in the end of the expansion when all raiding is already done and the best you can hope for is that said legendary will make your levelling in the next expansion a little easier? Legendaries don't even have a unique look, so even for transmog purposes they are irrelevant.

    Mac Pro 4,1
Early 2009, limited to MacOS El Capitan, Running a GTX 680 :/
GTX 680 is supported by both Metal 1 and 2. The reason you aren't running Metal is because Blizzard disabled it in anything before 10.12.x because 10.11's drivers were/are spectacularly buggy.

You can update your Mac Pro 4,1 to a 5,1 freely and then update to Sierra/High Sierra without issue. Your CPUs are fine. Your RAM is fine. It's Apple cockblocking you. You may need to temporarily install a fresh OS and boot from it (internally or externally, your choice) in order to successfully update the firmware, but once done, Apple's installer will let you do so and you'll have Metal and you'll cry rivers of joyful tears.

Make sure to reset your SMC after the update to ensure the machine has taken to the new firmware properly. SMC resets are recommended after applying full version upgrades to the OS.

Sorry, to play classic you'll need to downgrade to a Pentium 2.

Gotta keep it fully classic you know

Was wondering the same thing, quick google search told me if you have directX 11 or above, you're fine, and that you can see in graphic card settings (dxdiag program).

I don't get why they increase prices and start to reward more. What is the point in that? Isn't it the same as having the same price as before and having things give you as much as before? This is for the essences obviously.

The point is to make people farm them after the patch and not before. That's what Blizzard wants. Now why do they want that, that's another question. I guess they want people to start on equal footing when the patch gets out of the doors.

to the person with a Mac, I hate to say it but its time to upgrade. For a few hundred dollars you can build a very nice PC that's still capable of running WoW.

Or you can throw a few thousand around for a comparable Mac.

Anyone still on a 32 bit OS needs to upgrade. Not to sound harsh but them having to design for something as outdated as DX9/32 bit Operating Systems was holding the game back a lot in terms of optimization.

And yeah you can build a pc capable of running this for a decent amount.

Hopefully the game will get optimization updates. I'm surprised they supported dx9 amd 32bit OS for as long as they did. I have a few friends that will need to upgrade - they would probably use the same pc until they literally couldn't launch WoW. I keep trying to convince them that a SSD is a better purchase than xferring and faction changing for the nth time. They never listen

If your computer is old, a SSD won't do any uselful changes in game (except loading time in major cities)

It has bigger impact than you think.

I've replaced old hard drive with SSD about half a year ago on my 2012 iMac. It made huge difference in loading times everywhere, not just major cities. With old drive by time instance loaded people usually already pulled first packs, I could make cup of tea while Dalaran was loading, flying quickly often resulted in jerky rendering. With SSD instances and Dalaran were loading in just few seconds, flying is smooth even with bad graphics card.
  1. happy jumping car's Avatar
Yes that's what I said, SSD is about loading times, but you still have trouble with all the rest, raids combats, etc...

(I have SSD on my old setup too)

Doesn't effect hardware level, as long as your card supports software DX11 you are fine.

    That's not how it works.

One must compare Classic to MoP first, that improvement is drastic. Then one must compare MoP to Legion. Almost no visible improvements at all.

Time between Classic and MoP is 8 years. MoP happened like 6 years ago. The real graphic improvements stopped there, they just caught up some other parts of the game (like character models - the technology existed with pandaren already) to that level.

Edit: The real improvement would be at particles and particle density. I can run the game smoothly at 60 fps, 1080p with my gtx 760 and core i5-4670k on "7" graphic settings at any environment, yet I get fps drops at some certain visual effetcs, even when I zoom the camera close to a random blazier fire effect.
