Allied Races - Nightborne

Thalyssra and the Nightborne managed to quell their addiction to the Nightwell that had plagued them inside their protective barrier in Suramar for over 10,000 years. When the Legion came, the leaders of their race made a pact that created civil war. Now liberated, the Nightborne have found common ground with the Horde and plan to fight for them.

Remember Allied Races is a feature announced for Battle for Azeroth. The huge requirements we have right now are probably related to be able to play them before the expansion as a "pre-purchase privilege", I'm pretty sure they will have a way to work them out within any future expansion content. Maybe something like tabards you wear while completing any-zone World Quests.

Pretty fucked up. Especially it is big selling point for new expansion. I imagine they will unlock them soon after BfA or even just before expansion launch. Why fuck returning/new players?
    Are they REALLY fucked though...?

If that's the case, why aren't new/returning players automatically awarded everything available from a previous expansion once it's over? Wouldn't want to have them see something they want that they'd have to play the game for, they'd be so "fucked"...

Allied Races will be unlocked and something to pursue. I wouldn't imagine them to ease up on the requirements until BfA is over, and even then they'll probably require some metrics fulfilled before access is granted since they're kind of not meant to be part of the "base selection" of races.

Yeah I think this is going to be what happens. The requirements will decrease over time to be new and returning player friendly. 8.1 perhaps?

Amazing, isn't it? They could have made smaller tats for the face, but instead they put them where your armor will always be covering them.

They do have facial tattoo options, at least they're supposed to. They just don't always glow I guess. This is from wowhead:

Well 3 more allied races to showcase, 3 days till QnA, hmm an illusion? What could Ion be hiding at the end of the QnA?

They're amazing and I look forward to playing one, but I hope they don't launch with just 6 faces, 6 hairstyles, 3 skin and 3 hair colors

The banners in the embassy on PTR showed the completed requirements account-wide and that should be enough to recruit them. Although you will definitely need a Horde character to do the recruitment quests so yeah.

I guess it should be easier to judge the tattoos once we see them ingame.

Missed one of the hair color options.

Arcane pulse at least seems like a decent racial as opposed to the old illusion/invisibility meme.

20 second is pretty long for pve.

Allied Races are a FEATURE of coming expansion, not pre patch, not CURRENT expansion. Yes, i fully expect to have unlocked features of game i buy. Imagine if mount from deluxe edition was only unlocked if you were exalted with Hydraxian Waterlords.

Absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to grind a shitty rep to play a race. Especially when its going to be during the new expansion.

    Ok, but why?

You still need to make scenario to unlock them when you learn WHY they join x faction. And that story will be irrelevant in expansion anyway so it is fluff.
I actually expect them to be just unlocked when BfA launch, and, as you say, req are for playing before BfA launches.

But it is blizz, they like to fuck even simplest thing and heroically deal with problems they create.

    1) Unlock requirements are very stupid. Not lazy, just don't have infinite time.
    2) This post by MMO-C seems really silly and unnecessary. I got excited because I thought they'd released or something...

Can I race change instantly to Nightborne though when they get released?
You cannot race change unless you have the race unlocked.
