Patch 8.3 - Visions of N'Zoth Horde Allied Race - Vulpera
Vulpera are cunning nomadic scavengers capable of turning what they find into opportunities to thrive. Clever and resourceful, the vulpera of Vol’dun have survived amidst the sands for generations. Eager to join the ranks of the Horde, their caravans have departed from the dunes in search of adventure. The serpentine sethrak have taken to subjugating anyone they can as slaves, and the vulpera are an easy target for their machinations. If you’ve taken steps to liberate the vulpera from these overseers, they’ll join the Horde on the battlefield.

Unlocking the Vulpera
To unlock the ability to make a Vulpera, the following achievements must be completed on one character on your account. Once done, you can make a Vulpera on any server.

Classes
The Vulpera Allied Race can be any of these classes:

  • Death Knight (with pre-purchase of Shadowlands)
  • Warrior
  • Hunter
  • Rogue
  • Priest
  • Shaman
  • Mage
  • Warlock
  • Monk

Racials
The Vulpera racial abilities are as follows:

  • Bag of Tricks - Pull your chosen trick from the bag and use it on target enemy or ally. Enemies take [ Greater of {180% of Spell Power} or {180% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] damage, while allies are healed for [ Greater of {270% of Spell Power} or {270% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ].
  • Rummage Your Bag - Change your chosen tricks. Now where did you put that? 5 sec cast. 5 min cooldown
  • Make Camp - Make a camp at this location. Can only be used outdoors. 5 sec cast. 10 minute cooldown.
  • Return to Camp - Return to your camp. 10 sec cast. 1 hour cooldown
  • Fire Resistance - Reduces fire damage taken by 1%
  • Nose For Trouble - When you first take damage from an enemy, reduce that damage by 5% of your maximum health.
  • Alpaca Saddlebags - Increases the size of your backpack by 8 slots.

When you cast Rummage Your Bag, a small sack will appear in front of you and allow you to customize your Bag of Tricks spell. Based on the flavor text provided upon clicking it, it is clear that this racial will have options to discover to customize the spell further in a manner similar to how the Dark Iron Dwarf Mole Machine racial was able to discover more locations to travel.

Upon creating a Vulpera, they have two different options for Rummage Your Bag to choose from:

  • Corrosive Vial - Splash your enemy with corrosive fluid, dealing [ Greater of {180% of Spell Power} or {180% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] Nature damage. A good reason not to drop your bag!
  • Healing Vial - Heals a friend for [ Greater of {270% of Spell Power} or {270% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] Nature. Share the wealth!

Mounts
The Vulpera racial mount is the Caravan Hyena. It is usable by all Horde races upon completion of Allied Races: Vulpera.

    I give you four reasons:

1: They have the most badass beards
2: Their accent is badass as fuck.
3: They are small, but they jump high, so they can headbutt your face to oblivion.
    4: Moira is fucking bae.

Goblins at least have properly functioning models. Worgen females have elbows that bend 90 degrees backwards!
It is kinda weird that goblin & worgen are getting updated this xpac, but it's later on in the schedule.

If this is going to be an allied race, i would say its much to early for an aprils fools joke

As already pointed out - Pandaren, Worgen, and Tauren all have hair options.

We can argue semantics all we want. Human, Braided, Animal, I don't care. The point stands: Vulpera have no hair options. Something that no other race has. That's huge.

In the past every race has had some sort of "Hair" customization option. That's gone. Their customization comes from other places. Which I think opens the door for a lot of possibilities. Like Ethereal, for example. (to be clear, I don't particularly want playable ethereal, but its a good example)

They have more customization options than existing races, which is why I think there's a strong possibility for them to be an Allied Race in the future. Why put all this work in otherwise? Stuff like ear styles and accessories is pointless for an NPC race.

Allow me to quote you a little Muradin here:

"My older brother Magni is king of the dwarves."
"My younger brother Brann is a renowned explorer."
"If I didn't kick so much ass, I'd feel a tad awkward."

Let's not forget they're rough, tough, fighting, drinking, tank driving, bear wrestling, treasure hunting, mountain carving badasses.

Also, the beards. Damn those glorious beards...

Just quoting myself since it's more relevant here.
Let's dispell some myths and logical fallacies.

    1. Vulpera don't fit into the lore

Says who? A random nobody on a forum? They'll have lore and the Horde will encounter them in BfA, same as the Nightborne.

    2. They'll attract Furries!!
Ok, and? This game always did. Furries are just people whom enjoy anthropomorphic animals.

    3. They'll attract sexual deviants!!!!!!!!1111
Ok... so you're seeing something sexual in the Vulpera, but am concerned they'll attract sexual attention whilst there's races like Draenei, Blood Elves, Night Elves, Nightborne, Void Elves and humans in the game? Sorry, but the "Furry" races tend to be pretty damned absent from ERP hotspots, Draenei being the exception since most people are seemingly unaware that they fulfill the Furry qualities. There are far more non-Furries doing sexual things with WoW races, where's your concern about those?

    4. They're too cute!!!!111
Um, they're not overly cute nor sexualized, you sure you're not exposing your personal feelings here?

    5. They don't fit into the Warcraft universe!!!!
Again, says you, a random nobody with an opinion.
The developers and writers of the game decide such things, and they've added anthropomorphic pigs, monkeys, hyenas, rats, cows, goats, fish, pandas, bears, wolverines, walrus, Bison, Owls, Cats, snakes... So sorry, but if you're concerned with playing a game that's not "Furry fuel", then you're playing the wrong fucking game.

This. Over and over again. The game has ancient beings based on animals, each of which has a race associated with it. This is Warcraft Lore, not Western Lore, Chinese Lore, or anything else. Warcraft. The creators of this world can explain and create anything they please. Those of you who think they should exclude a race because it's not what you personally want need to put more effort into creating your own game so you can play as just humans as much as you want.

I liked the Pandarens. I really dislike these guys. They look less humanoid and more like an actual race from a jrpg.
I guess it could attract a crowd of teenage asian girls but beyond that i dont really see what they bring to the wow universe

No, alliance has the void, hence void elves. Seriously though couldn't they make Gnolls playable at least? Not this cutesy Vulpera lol. Blizz will definitely make money off this race of they're playable though. Too many people like cute crap!

Aha! The old "you dont like this? then fuck off and make your own game" argument. Yeah just as bad now as it was in 2004
