Account Suspensions
Following last week's development blog, Blizzard is now implementing the first part of the game improvements mentioned, starting out with improved account suspension tools. This should result in a vast increase of actions taken against accounts in violation of the terms of service.

We will continue to issue weekly suspension and ban waves for non-participation and intentionally dying. You can check that forum thread regularly to keep up with our latest round of account actions. Additionally, if you’ve recently reported another player for going AFK, refusing to participate, or intentionally dying, be sure to keep an eye on the email inbox associated with your account for any updates regarding actions we’ve taken against that player as a result of your report.

We’d like to thank those of you who use the relevant in-game reporting options when you spot negative behavior in your matches and encourage you to continue doing so. Your actions have the largest positive impact on the health of the community.

Absolutely! If we find that the reported player is intentionally feeding in a lot of their games, we will take action on their account. (@BlizzHeroes)

Blizzard, what about the players who feed or don't participate out of sheer ignorance and stupidity? I am starting to hate this lame reporting system. No matter what and how you say it, people exercise your patience anyway and when you finally snap they all feel justified to report you.

I rather play with toxic cunt who understands the basics of soaking experience, when to engage and how to draft over a friendly and loveable fool with foam at the mouth.

I have been silenced twice already and when I asked GM what was the reason for it, he send me a line where I called Azmodan a retard. Then I asked him to review all the lines to see how long was I begging that goddamn dipshit to stop being AFK in lane and help us in team fight once in a while. Then I just got a response that my ticket is marked as solved and closed.

I mean, when you get silenced and return to Unranked and play with other silenced players, you just notice a very different game. Sure sometimes you get a frustrated toxic cunt who just wants to ruin a game to feel better, but most of the time the games are way more competitive than in fucking HL where it is all about pretending to be nice and dumb.

Blizzard should just stop protecting oversensitive fucks. This 'zero tolerance' bullshit doesn't work, you can't always have a system protecting you. Problem with this policy, is that more often than not, it helps the bullies more. I don't think a player calling someone a retard is bully, bully is the one who is acting on sheer ignorance or stupidity to ignite the conflict.

The thing is, if different people are calling you a retard in any situation over and over, there certainly must be a truth in it somewhere.

I absolutely 100% agree. Unfortunately, when I try to bring up flaws in the system on Reddit I get downvoted to crap because the HotS community is full of snowflakes who think calling someone too ignorant to listen to his team an "idiot" is toxic and worthy of a several month silence.

This game is full of idiots and someone needs to point it out to them or they will never know. I got my 5th silence for calling a jaina idiot for acting as spec whole match and soaking the whole match with 0 team play with us. Blizzard just protected this snowflake by preventing me from HL, do you think he learned his lesson of why we lost? Nope he will eventually rot in bronze trying to figure out why he is there.

Or maybe you could express it in a way without rupturing your blood vessels.

Sensitive Snowflake vs abusive snowflake. Insulting someone wasnt going to make them learn anyway. If you dont learn yourself after a silences (5th? Really? Thats telling) or an eventual full ban, the people who respond properly to bad play will remain and the game will be healthier for it.

Has there ever been an instance where, when you eventually resorted to tossing out insults at people, those people finally did what you were asking of them?

And what should I do when I express that with respecting manner and it doesn't get any sense into them. You know what are these people? these are same nova, valeera, laser azmo and twin blade varian who think just because they excelled in QM with their trash picks and builds are going to work well in HL. These people who are wasting your time and mine for their amusement.

I have no problem at all if we got outplayed by enemy team Kudos to them, but when I get loss after loss because draft picks or ignorant players then it becomes tedious. It is basically you are handing a win to the other team for free.

Again, what makes you believe resorting to insults will improve matters if it already seems like they are not responding to a more respectful manner of speech?

What should you do? I don't know, behave like an adult maybe? Or do you think throwing a temper tantrum like a child will somehow suddenly make those players listen to you and do what you want? See, when you start behaving like a petulant child, more likely those players are gonna keep doing whatever you're crying about just our of spite, assuming they don't just silence and report you.

Sure I will fucking slap smile and waste ~25 min of match that I know it is doomed because an act of child untill next match I find him again or someone else.

So because someone else is doing something dumb, you decide the best option is to...throw a tantrum like a kid? And you think this improves your gaming experience? Just as a question, ARE you an adult? If not, that would explain your behavior at least.

No problem i'll simply have my team chat turned off. Seeing how everything is considered toxic.

Considering how my ignore list has been full since beta with only 5 people on there.

I highly doubt they'll do anything about inactivity or people dcing. Still find they could get rid of a lot of toxic behavior by simply adding the option to surrender and not make people participate in an often train wreck of a game.

What is your brilliant solution to a kid who you can't communicate reasonably with him? and I'm not talking about a single match I'm talking about series of matches in a day. I'm waiting for your answer.

What you don't understand is that there are polite, impolite, rude, offensive and downright hateful ways to articulate a point.

The problem is that Blizzard are punishing the polite and impolite messages in the same manner as offensive and downright hateful messages. As far as I'm concerned, they shouldn't be banning players for extended lengths of time - unless it's for hate speech, telling people to commit suicide in real life, wishing cancer upon people, telling others their parents should have aborted them, etc.

First of all, nice assumption I insult others first.

It couldn't be further from the truth. If I insult somebody, it is only after they start to be offended dicks once I call them out for their repeated mistake. If you do one mistake over and over, you are simply not realizing your own failure and need to be corrected by somebody else. Does it mean my suggestion is right? Hell no, but you at least give it a try instead of acting butthurt.

Problem with Mr.Nice attitude is, it doesn't get people doing what you want from them. I can be nice and try to shotcall, the collective impulsive herd mentality will overwhelm it anyway. Another huge factor is time, you simply don't have time to be nice if you need to make crucial call quickly.

Let's look on one example on Tomb of Spider Queen. Your team is a level behind (19vs20) and missing a keep in middle, your ally is caught alone and enemy team goes to capture a boss. However your team still has enough gems to turn in. What are you going to do? Go all in as four and try to steal boss or turn in and prepare for defense? Please keep in mind you still have keep with front wall on top lane. What is your call?

A massive difference between online gaming and real world is, you don't actually get a third party safety bubble for acting ignorant. I mean, if you play football with your friends and your team decides it is your turn to be a goal tender, but you suddenly decide to play as a forward and as result of that enemy team score 3 quick goals, I am convinced your friends would be pissed off at you and call you out.

To answer your question. Yes, it does happen sometimes. Just yesterday calling my team a "bunch of morons" was enough to finally get them play the game our composition was supposed to. We had extremely dominant team fight composition and it was just matter of not responding to enemy cheese strategy, exploiting their weak link and forcing them to respond to us just to dominate them in team fights. To their surprise, we actually dominated the game and won with 3 level lead. After the game I thanked them for listening to me.

Absolutely agree RH92. The only time I start start insulting people is after - as this guy said - they start acting like dicks once I've called them out on repeated mistakes or insubordination. I only lose my nerve when players repeatedly act ignorant.

There isn't one. You ignore them and move on. That's what adults do. Calling them names or anything will not do anything other than get them to silence you, report you, or continue doing what you're ranting at them not to do solely out of spite. It doesn't help YOU at all, it will just make you look like a dickish kid crying cause he's not getting his way. If you think THAT is a solution, I am fairly certain that you acting like a kid rather than an adult is not actually an act.

If someone is insulting you for giving advice or making a request of them, what makes you believe that insulting them back will make them more receptive to whatever it is you are trying to tell them?

Would it not take more time to add insults to whatever information you're attempting to impart quickly?

About how often would you say that you've garnered a positive result, similar to the example you gave, from resorting to insults?
