The leak makes a lot of sense. Yrel is going to (supposedly) be a big character in BfA so they'll obviously want to do some cross-promo crap.

I would have much rather had Maraad.

Half the specialists are barely considerable as "specialists" in the vein of guys like Lost Vikings or Murky, they're just mages/assassins that happen to do some above average building damage (and before you say 'DATS WHAT MAKES EM SPECIAL', a lot of non-specialists heroes do comparable amounts of pushing and structure damage).

Specialist was a failed idea and they're rightfully not happy with some of the dogshit ideas that came out of the role, so they're axing it. Same with multi-class and their failed experiment with Varian. The whole game is just a series of ideas that are either bad, poorly conducted or dead-on-arrival failed experiments.
But like I said, none of that has to do with the label. Remove the label, they're still the same.
Even if the label was never there, they'd still be the same.

And what I said has nothing to do with the label. They're not making anymore heroes that are supposed to be specialists, which is why Junkrat (for instance) wasn't a specialist. You're right about removing the labels (in fact the point you make about them is practically the entire reason that specialist is going away). You could call Azmodan a Bruiser or a Mage or whatever and he'd function the exact same.

But now take the tiny amount of heroes who actually fit the 'specialist' role. Like Lost Vikings or Murky or Abathur (off the top of my head I think they're literally the only heroes that fit Specialist properly. Maybe Probius?). You can't exactly re-label Lost Vikings as 'Support', he doesn't really support anyone. Obviously it's the closest non-specialist role you could call him so that's what he'll probably be re-labeled as.

The point of specialist was that they were heroes so specialized to some kind of uncanny tactic that they didn't properly fit as any other role, but in practice only like three specialist heroes deserve to actually be called a specialist. The rest are Assassins and Supports. It's a failed experiment so they're just properly re-labeling guys like Azmodan into tags that aren't meaningless.

If the artwork is any indication, it at least looks like she's using his hammer.

Yrel big character in BfA? Yeah unless alliance will find a way get into Draenor, for which i doubt sadly.

Yep, but she don't use shield like she did in WoD.

She is. There are leaks out that explain that on AU Draenor the Draenei went bananas and forced the orcs to convert to the Light and Yrel is some kind of crazy high exarch.

If the rest of the leak is correct in that she's a ret paladin, she wouldn't use one anyway.

I don't like this at all. If Blizz weren't this smart and including a new battleground (Alterac Valley) then i would had taken a 2 month break. But now when they release such a awesome map i have to play it a bit, at least. Then maybe a break.

I have nothing against a random female draeinei. Would had been good if they still were pushing out 11-12 heroes this year. But now we most likely have 4-5 heroes left this year. And 2 of them will be revealed at Blizzcon in 6 months (November).

So quality over quantity would had been awesome. Put out the big names. Put out the big guns. Release the most wanted & hyped heroes. Make each of the few heroes this year we have left, COUNT.

People have been wanting a draenei hero for AGES now. Time and time again Y'rel(along with Maraad) is mentioned as one of the best possibilities for that. So they literally are giving one of the most requested heroes.

I have never seen Yrel mentioned anywhere and i hang around Blizzards own forums, reddit and here a bit. I have seen Velen though.

You might wanna use spoiler tags. The events you speak of happen in the Mag'har recruitment scenario and from what we see, we escape back to our world with the Mag'har survivors through Grom's sacrifice. This is all placeholder, ofcourse, the scenario already changed once, we used to just take Geyarah and a handful of Mag'har with us, rather than us having to escape through the portal. So while it's possible that the Alliance somehow gets to Dreanor later, right now the Dreanor stuff is 100% Horde related. I do think the corrupting light stuff is gonna get pushed onto Anduin to force "moral greyness", though, we'll see. Yrel might just be coming back.

OT: It's crazy to see how far we've come. I know a contingency of people aren't nescessarily happy with the current state of the game but it's great to still see it growing after 3 years.

The leaks look interesting, from the pic I think we see Junkrat, Auriel, Johanna and Falstad or Muradin? I think the orc and humans at the bottom just represent the AvH stuff. Maybe they'll be the cores or some other unique mechanic? The human does look a lot like Varian's master skin, though.

As for Yrel, I actually like that we're getting her over Tirion or w/e. It would have been pretty hard to make it work, considering Greymane already uses the wolf portrait, just to differentiate him from Uther. Unique silhouettes should also allow for more unique skins.

35 years have passed in AU Dreanor. Yrel has been blinded by the Light and turned into space Hitler. She's being set up to be an extremist for the Light; the Light's equivalent to Gul'Dan. "You will convert or you will die." Grom scarifies himself to save the Mag'Har as they escape into our Azeroth, his son (AU Garrosh?) has converted and sided with Yrel. Durotan was also killed, but his daughter (AU Thrall?) is supposed to be a big player too, dunno how yet. Pretty sure Draka is still alive.

That's just the info I learned without any actual experience playing any scenarios. The Internet can be cruel when it comes to hiding spoilers. T_T

If you haven't seen her mentioned, you really, REALLY don't pay attention to requested hero threads, cause she is mentioned a LOT more than Velen ever is. "Draenei hero" is requested all the fucking time, and nearly every time, the person says something like "Y'rel or Maraad?" or "(Y'rel/Maraad)", or "probably Maraad, or maybe Y'rel?"

The top 3 contenders for a Draenai Hero for years now have been Yrel, Maraad, and Velen. Don't know how you managed to miss this piece of information, since I have been reading those same websites and still figured this out on my own.

If we ever get Priest Hero we will be getting Anduin first instead of Velen for certain. When it comes to Yrel or Maraad, Yrel has more marketing potential since she is still a character that can be used in future WoW expansions since she is alive in another timeline. Maraad on the other hand has been dead for two expansions now by the time BfA is released, so I don't see him getting released as a Retribution Paladin Hero in HotS unless they make an alternate skin choice for Yrel.
