They literally portrayed the two leaders as complete retards and there was no logic there whatsoever. Their chief enemy was right there in front of them in a battle and all they did was stare and let her escape like idiots without even trying? Good writing my arse. She was a banshee who went back and re-entered her corporeal body. So...not sure exactly what that makes her, but it's more than just a simple incorporeal banshee. As other's have said, the NPC's transcend the archetypes of other things in the game. Sylvanas is no exception. Blizzard has established that she can do these things, so I'm just going to go with it.

The event was amazing. Especially the cinematics. Easily my favorite pre-expansion event.

Uh WFT blizzard i think you got top mutch mery sue with Jaina in these chapters.

So frost and arcane spells can now just remove the blight that should destroy everything for like thousands of years…
This way the plague has no use just get Jaina in it and she cleanse it in a day.

(look back to the bombings in the UK during the second world war) you would see pictures of the British just getting on with it often sitting in a destroyed workplace in suits sitting a good old cuppa like nothing happened. I know they can't win game-play wise. I want to know why you think its a lore impossibility?
