Ranked Play & Matchmaking AMA Recap
Yesterday's developer AMA had a lot of juicy answers, so we'll be sticking to just the highlights here. However, if you're interested in reading all the answers in their dense glory, you can check them out in this thread!

  • Hero swaps for ranked are on the table, but the team wants more feedback on the final implementation
  • Protmotion/demotion games will be limited to moving between leagues in the future
  • Ideas to make Team League more attractive are being kicked around
  • Loss Forgiveness is actively being worked on, where leavers have their rating punished appropriately and the rest of the team don't lose points at all
    • Loss Forgiveness is first in line for implementation, with Performance-Based Matchmaking following shortly afterwards
  • Quick Match matchmaking will be updated to guarantee tank/healer/ranged assassin compositions some time this fall!
  • A ready check system is being discussed internally
  • Visible MMR will release alongside Performance-Based Matchmaking
  • Reintroducing duo-queue for Hero League is being considered for next year


Heroes Brawl of the Week, August 10, 2018 - Checkpoint: Hanamura

This week’s brawl is Checkpoint: Hanamura – Attack or defend a single payload on a single-lane Overwatch inspired battleground!




Rules:
  • Shuffle Pick
    • At the start of the match, you’ll choose one of three available Heroes, but choose quickly, you only have 30 seconds!
  • Reduced Death Timers
    • Hero death timers will all be reduced to 9 seconds, or 12.5 seconds during overtime
  • No talents. No levels.
    • All players will start at level 10 and choose a Heroic ability, but nothing else
  • Pumped up Health Packs
    • Health Packs can be found around the Battleground which will instantly restore 50% of total Health and Mana to the player that walks over it
  • Checkpoints? Check.
    • Reaching a Checkpoint will grant additional capture time for the attacking team
  • Escort your payload to its destination or defend the enemy push to claim victory!

Rewards:
  • Complete three matches of Checkpoint: Hanamura to earn a Loot Chest!

    If HL & TL queues merge or HL duo q comes back, I'm gone for good. The solo q experience without carrying and all the other garbage that comes with duo q is one of the few real advantages of HotS in the f2p pvp market.

    While still i wonder how it is possible, i get match with people who play for 2 - 3 weeks. Asked and no respond...
