Forbes appears to have accidentally published an article about Diablo III coming to the Switch too early. Kotaku has confirmed this information.

Diablo III is making its way to the Nintendo Switch at long last.

The action-RPG from Blizzard, which launched on PC way back in 2012 and subsequently released on consoles, will launch later this year. The Switch version, called the 'Eternal Collection' includes the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions plus all the other added content the game has seen and costs $59.99.

Diablo III on the Nintendo Switch will also feature special Nintendo exclusive in-game bonuses: the Legend of Ganondorf cosmetic armor set, Tri-Force portrait frame, Chicken pet, and Echoes of the Mask cosmetic wings.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game can be played in several different ways, including docked or on-the-go.
  • Up to 4 players can play together on a single Switch.
  • Up to 4 players can play on 4 different Switch units wirelessly without an internet connection.
  • Players can also team up online with the Nintendo Switch Online service (which launches in September.)

There will be cloud saving support for the game as well.

    Girlfriend just saw the article on her phone. I'm tickled pink because it means all those people holding out hope that the job offerings for the 'unannounced Diablo project' were probably all for naught, as the jobs were likely just for a Switch port. Poor fellas.

    People are quick to jump to conclusions without thinking... The job postings for a new diablo project include an environment artist (that is familiar with the next gen pbr asset pipeline), dungeon artist and a vfx artist and as far as I know you don't need those just for a switch port.

    A new diablo game is still coming, this is just something to generate some more income until then.

    If only they did cross plateform support between all versions... but nope! Gonna be a barren wasteland of an online game from the get go. Surprised they haven't done a Mobile version yet.

    That is a joke.

    Also I hope this isn't one of the "big multiple projects" they were on about a week or so ago. Because if it is I'll be disappointed.

    Like, a port to switch would require a small team more than likely, if even that. And they said multiple un-announced projects, a port isn't an unannounced project, and even if it is, theres still -multiple-, meaning more than 1.

    If this is one of them, it just means that theres still another one that will prob be revealed at blizzcon.

    Who did they hire? Last I knew it was just a 'team leader', not a 'project lead' and some artists.

    Its nintendo's latest handheld. Its a tablet.

    It's kind of a hybrid console but focuses more on portable.

    Its a console by nintendo. Horrible specs but nintendrone says «its the most powerful tablet on the market». Who the hell plays on a tablet to begin with? And portability. You kinda look like a moron if you walk around with it
