Uldir Boss Guides - World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Raid
The Uldir raid in World of Warcraft was added to the game data in Patch 8.0.1, and released in September 2018. Our strategy guide will help you to defeat the Uldir encounters and the loot listing below contains all of the loot the bosses drop on each difficulty.
The installation of Uldir was tasked to find a more permanent means of combating the Old God threat. Though the Titans were able to contain the Old Gods in a series of prison installations they knew that this was only a delaying tactic as the undying Old Gods raged against their bindings and sought to escape by corrupting anything that came into contact with them. Within Uldir the Old Gods and their powerful minions were dissected and examined, their Void essence extracted and studied as a means of searching for a weakness that would allow the Titans to put an end to the Old Gods without also killing the host world the Old Gods had infected.
Uldir was administered by its appointed Watcher: The Matron of Tenacity, Herald of Endless Research (MOTHER), designed by the Titans with an insatiable curiosity and drive to experiment. MOTHER was set over a handful of Titan Watchers including Taloc, a construct designed with powerful defensive and offensive capacity, who patrolled the halls of Uldir and ensured that none of the corrupting influence of its experiments escaped the facility into the wilds of Azeroth.
Experimentation on Old God specimens gave rise to something unexpected and exceedingly dangerous: G'huun, a fully realized yet immature Old God - an avatar of the Old Gods' collective and ravening desire to taint and corrupt everything they touched. G'huun's pestilential corruption swiftly became more than the safeguard protocols of Uldir could contain, and so MOTHER and the Watcher stewards of the installation enacted a desperate plan to contain this new Old God within the facility. Three Seals were created and placed in temple structures near Uldir itself - structures that would come to be known as Dazar'alor, Atul'Aman, and Nazwatha and acted in concert to contain G'huun and his corrupting rot from contaminating Azeroth.
Through his scheming, alongside G'huun's own worshipful Blood Trolls as well as the power-hungry Sethrak known as the Faithless, the Prophet Zul has broken the final intact seal of Dazar'alor and opened the way for G'huun to escape Uldir at last. With MOTHER seemingly unresponsive, G'huun has corrupted Taloc and turned it against the installation and all who might stop the Old God's escape. With the aid of the mighty C'Thrax known as Mythrax the Unraveler and other corrupted creations of the Titans' experiments, G'huun marshals its forces for an all-out attack on the defenders of the wounded and beleaguered Azeroth.

The following is our current planned release schedule for Uldir raid content:
September 4 - Normal and Heroic open
September 11 - Mythic, Raid Finder Wing 1: Halls of Containment (Taloc, MOTHER, Zek’voz, Herald of N’zoth)
September 25 - Raid Finder Wing 2: Crimson Descent (Fetid Devourer, Vectis, Zul, Reborn)
October 9 - Raid Finder Wing 3: Heart of Corruption (Mythrax the Unraveler, G’huun)

I feel like there is almost no connection between the Alliance storyline and this raid, is that accurate? Now, I've not completed everything in all the zones for alliance yet, but seems like this is a little out of left field if I wasn't also leveling a Horde toon and familiar with the lore of the game.

Yes, there is next to zero build-up for Alliance. The closest we get is Brann Bronzebeard making mention of Uldir at the beginning and end of the Underrot dungeon (which also has no build-up for Alliance). That's the problem with separating factions out with almost independent stories but still having us do the same content in the end. Why does the Horde go to the Siege of Boralus? It would make sense if they were capitalizing on the chaos and trying to take over the city, but as far as I know they just kill the same invading force that Alliance does. Nonsensical.

This is the first I have heard of this. Is there actually an encrypted cinematic in the game data for one of these? We never had one for Highmaul or Emerald Nightmare.
The minimalist guide isn't too helpful without context of knowing the fight. I really miss those Two Minute Tips videos by LoS Gaming. They nailed tactics in such a clean and concise manner that even with no prior knowledge of the fight, you became fully familiar with it in moments.
I see helms, shoulders and chests in the loot table. But I don't see azerite armor pieces. Aren't we supposed to wear them all the time? Why should I swap my current 340 azerite shoulder with a 355 shoulder without traits, I don't get it. What's the logic behind this loot?

They are Azerite pieces, obviosuly, but since they aren't class specific, they can't know which traits will be available to you.

Does this raid have anything to do with the Loa of the Kings? There could be a cinematic that progresses this, possibly showing Vol'Jin take the mantle and giving prelates back their power.

Story wise the Horde don't do Siege of Boralus, and the Alliance probably has nothing to do with Uldir, but for gameplay reasons obviously this stuff needs to be opened up to both factions.

yeah, i think it was cleared and no cinematic showed up, so they removed that part here.
