Reddit Ask Me Anything With Ion Hazzikostas on Friday, September 14th
According to this reddit thread, tomorrow, Friday September the 14th at 2 PM PDT Game Director Ion Hazzikostas will be doing an "ask me anything" in the WoW reddit to answer questions about the live game. The thread will not be stickied per Blizzard's request, and there are a few guidelines to follow according to the post:

  • Please remain civil and respectful at all times. In the interest of being able to have other AMAs in the future, the Mod team independently warns that any bad behavior and violation of reddit rules will be punished with a permanent ban, and the removal of your comment.
  • Hopefully the community is able to discuss politely. Do not downvote, if you disagree with a comment, discuss or challenge it. The goal is to promote a respectful, useful discussion, as it is in everyone's best interests.
  • Try to ask succinct, clear questions. Walls of text with 30 questions shoved into a single comment are heavily discouraged. Questions should nevertheless strive to be constructive. A comment such as "fix the game" will likely not get answered.

Ythisens responded when asked why the thread won't be stickied.

Essentially we'd prefer if an AMA live organically. We're guests on this platform and in this community. You run it, you decide what content you upvote or downvote. We think a force sticky doesn't abide by how Reddit itself functions and we shouldn't be an exception to that.

Also most typical users and guests browse over the stickied posts even though its at the top. Sorry admins :P I promise I read them though.

Normally I'd ask him why most classes seemed to peak in MoP, and why they've now tripled down on failure. But there's no point. We all know this is just going to be Ion taking a stroll through a cherry orchard prepped by Reddit mods.

If they only have tough questions to choose from then they can only answer those questions. So please don't submit easy questions

    Tough questions are fine.

Directly insulting dev questions are not. And immature at best.

But that's not what I'm suggesting. I'm suggesting only submitting questions addressing issues rather than things that the game is doing well so that they can't just cherry pick and paint a rosy picture

Oh I agree. I wouldn't say only issues. Maybe some about 8.1.

But yeah they need to address the issues with this AmA. Not just cherry pick garbage tier questions like they do with the Q and A or only address issues with a "we know" response.

I think game direction and 'what is happening next' questions are fine but yeah the last thing we want is another repeat of the previous Q&A where so many glaring issues are completely ignored. I think despite the doomsday alarmists of MMO-C, most people in the community want the game to prosper and honest feedback is the only way to achieve that

I dont even know what a twitter is, so there is that. They do realize this game existed way before the twit generation?

Reddit mods are going to have a heavy workload during this impending cluster.

If we're lucky we'll get really a handful meaningful questions that are answered in a half-assed way.

Most of it will be RP, transmog, pet battles and other fluff.

I'm very down to be wrong, I'd love to walk away from this with a sense of hope for the game.

IMO there seems to be a huge level of miscommunication going on at blizzard, both in house and with the players. Many reported bugs never fixed, players never updated and frustrated with changes. I want to ask if a large portion of the team is already working on future content, because late beta to present doesn't appear to be their #1 priority. I'm basing that on how much has gone wrong for a blizzard product. For this to happen they must be looking elsewhere...and if that's true it was clearly too ambitious for them.

    Or they're truly incompetent..

Like, that's literally of the point of Reddit. Hide the bullshit, raise the good stuff.

If someone is asking the questions there must be at least one person who wants an answer to that question. Logic bro.
