World of Warcraft® Classic BlizzCon® Demo
Every BlizzCon, we look for opportunities to bring new aspects of the experience to our community around the world. This year, we’re excited to announce that for the first time ever, BlizzCon Virtual Ticket holders will join BlizzCon attendees as the first people to play the World of Warcraft Classic demo we’re creating for BlizzCon at home.

Shortly after the BlizzCon opening ceremony on November 2 (on or around 1pm PDT), players will be able to download the same in-development BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo that will be playable on the show floor. Players will have a chance to explore and enjoy a limited questing experience through a pair of classic early-level zones—one Horde and one Alliance—and experience firsthand our recreation of the original Azeroth.

Once the demo is live, you’ll be able to play until 10am PST on November 8, giving BlizzCon attendees a chance to check it out again once they get back home.

Declare Your Allegiance With BlizzCon In-Game Loot
In addition to access to the BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo, starting today BlizzCon attendees and Virtual Ticket holders will receive commemorative in-game items that will help them proudly display their Horde or Alliance pride as the Battle for Azeroth rages on:

  • War Mantle of the Alliance & War Mantle of the Horde: Show all of Azeroth where your allegiance lies with a pair of faction-themed cosmetic cloaks—one for Horde characters, and one for Alliance.
  • Stormwind Champion’s War Banner & Orgrimmar Hero’s War Banner: Strike fear into your enemies and stand your ground when you plant your faction’s banner on the battlefield.

In addition to this year’s WoW items and access to the BlizzCon WoW Classic demo, the Virtual Ticket provides plenty of great BlizzCon content for your viewing pleasure along with additional in-game goodies from Overwatch®, Diablo® III, Hearthstone®, Heroes of the Storm®, and StarCraft® II.

Yeah, I think I'll save my money this year. Demoing WoW classic is tempting, but I can just practice a little patience.

Those capes aren't even very interesting as far as capes go. They could've at least done something to make those capes INCREDIBLY flashy and stand out from your average 2D paper-back cape. Maybe give them unique cape physics and particle effects? Add extra layers onto the cape so it doesn't look flat - like making the tassels and chains individually hang off of the cape and billow in the wind? Add a cloak hood that overlaps your normal helmet armor in a similar way that the Christmas outfits do? Maybe give the cape a special animation, or at least a right-click function on the item itself that plays a few trumpets for the Alliance/war drums for Horde. Something small like that would've been nice.

But no, they're just two unremarkable alliance and horde themed capes, of which there are probably several in-game lookalikes that get across the same faction themes (i.e. the Stormwind and Orgrimmar reputation cloaks). If vanilla WoW's demo weren't here to distract everyone, this would be yet another PR disaster for Blizzard.
Exactly what I was thinking. I'm extremely disappointed in those lackluster capes. And toys? The only toys that see any kind of frequent use (that I see) are actually useful ones (pet battle exp increase, faster cooking hat, etc) and transformation toys during raidbreak/prepull peparation. Those big flashy mounts always made me feel that paying so much money for a virtual ticket was worth it, since shop mounts cost something and there would be a few other smaller things for the other Blizz games.

They've clearly snipped the rewards out to use for that subscription offer.

Man I really want that alliance cape.. Thought its a steep price. I'll be on the fence a while longer. When getting gear that comes from stuff like this(were money is used), it always feels a bit fake tbh. Im more ok with mounts though for some reason lol

I would've been all for it if they gave us an exclusive, full transmog set appearance of unique alliance/horde armor that had high detail and cool effects. The cape and banner could've been included with the set, rather than looking measley on they're own.

It is but my point was that cloak was called the most useless transmog item and i dont think it is. Writs take that imo.

Buy a ticket to play a demo of classic, or don't buy a ticket and continue to play all of classic for free?

Last year I got 2 mounts, so the price was worth the investment. This year, not so much. I usually have hidden cloaks, because these things actually don't look like cloaks, so... no use for me. And I find this faction pride things kinda disgusting, so no banners for me as well. And Classic can go die in a fire, if you ask me. Catering to nostalgia is a bad move.

A demo I couldn't give a damn about, and banners....

    How incredibly underwhelming.

Whelp, looks like I'll be ignoring the virtual ticket this year...

Wow they went from an somewhat useful and nice looking mount to a cloak? That ugly thing that everyone hides because the weapon is constantly clipping thru? I guess they bank on the classic demo because the item isn't even worth considering.

You don't pay 50 bucks for the mount, you pay for the whole package. Some people act like they ask the money only for this ingame cloak and toy, lol. And a lot of you whiners gonna buy this ticket anyway because you wanna be exclusive because this is the only opportunity to get this items, and Blizzard knows it. If you can't stand it just go back and enjoy the gameplay? They are fucking items what doesn't give you any advantage.

Wow... A not-that-nice cape (there's a better one available for rep with faction vendor) and a banner. Faction pride? How about a cool transmog set, then. I'd even take a Stormwind murlock.

I am assuming you have at least one character at level 20, in which case ---- your mount is as useful as a cosmetic cloak. They are both cosmetic. Get over trolling.

The mount can fly and is a 2 seater.

This is so depressing. I bought the virtual ticket for myself and a friend who has only been playing wow a few years. My friend thought it was odd I bought the virtual ticket in advance of knowing the rewards. I told him "Blizzard always has great in-game goodies for the virtual ticket. I am not worried."...then Blizzard does this. Feels like WOD days have come back again.....

Needless to say, I will no longer buy the virtual ticket when it becomes available. I will wait till Blizzard reveals the in game rewards before I buy. I know this sounds like common sense but the point I've always had faith that Blizzcon rewards were always worth it. No longer.

For those of you posted that the "main" thing is that you get to watch Blizzcon as it happens on stream....get over it. NO ONE buys the virtual ticket for the streams, NO ONE buys the virtual ticket for any of the rewards except the World of Warcraft rewards, NO ONE buys the virtual ticket for the 30% of blizzcon store goodies (I am looking at you , GM who locked the thread).

Do you complain about prices in the shops too? You can't afford it/it is not vital for you, you can actually not buy that. Lol. Entitlement is real

Simple people. I wonder sometimes how these people can survive in this world?

But that's where you are wrong. I buy the ticket mostly for the stream.
Yes some panels will be on youtube. But the blizzard stream looks better, loads faster and I can quickly find anything I need. Plus loads of the panels I like (engineering team QAs) are mostly not on youtube.
