World of Warcraft® Classic BlizzCon® Demo
Every BlizzCon, we look for opportunities to bring new aspects of the experience to our community around the world. This year, we’re excited to announce that for the first time ever, BlizzCon Virtual Ticket holders will join BlizzCon attendees as the first people to play the World of Warcraft Classic demo we’re creating for BlizzCon at home.

Shortly after the BlizzCon opening ceremony on November 2 (on or around 1pm PDT), players will be able to download the same in-development BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo that will be playable on the show floor. Players will have a chance to explore and enjoy a limited questing experience through a pair of classic early-level zones—one Horde and one Alliance—and experience firsthand our recreation of the original Azeroth.

Once the demo is live, you’ll be able to play until 10am PST on November 8, giving BlizzCon attendees a chance to check it out again once they get back home.

Declare Your Allegiance With BlizzCon In-Game Loot
In addition to access to the BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo, starting today BlizzCon attendees and Virtual Ticket holders will receive commemorative in-game items that will help them proudly display their Horde or Alliance pride as the Battle for Azeroth rages on:

  • War Mantle of the Alliance & War Mantle of the Horde: Show all of Azeroth where your allegiance lies with a pair of faction-themed cosmetic cloaks—one for Horde characters, and one for Alliance.
  • Stormwind Champion’s War Banner & Orgrimmar Hero’s War Banner: Strike fear into your enemies and stand your ground when you plant your faction’s banner on the battlefield.

In addition to this year’s WoW items and access to the BlizzCon WoW Classic demo, the Virtual Ticket provides plenty of great BlizzCon content for your viewing pleasure along with additional in-game goodies from Overwatch®, Diablo® III, Hearthstone®, Heroes of the Storm®, and StarCraft® II.

Yeah, if they're going to make the in-game loot from Blizzcon transmog items just go ahead and make it a whole badass set, not just a cloak, that isn't a selling point for me at all.

The in-game rewards this year are quite lackluster, especially the capes.

Seems like the BlizzCon mount was going to be the pirate ship, but then they're like, no wait we can make extra money on subs if we just don't give a Con mount this year. LOL.

I don't understand at all how people can be excited about a Classic DEMO. It's pretty much going to be one zone. A zone you can play through in game right now. The classic version will just be way shittier. How is a demo of something you can play right now worth $50?

I wonder if they are modifying the "cardboard cutout" vanilla world to make it more like the cata one ( ie put mountains in the unfinished areas).
no dude theyre gonna make no changes at all to the zones. And the demo probably only has a few zones so that the rest of the world "doesnt exist"

Increased costs aside, why were so many people expecting the WoW in-game reward to be a mount? Last year was the first time they included a mount since 2008. I'm more shocked that we aren't getting another Murky variant mini-pet, since they seem to love them so much.

Unless you go on a private server, you can't play those exact classes and zones right now.
Vanilla was VASTLY different from what current WoW is. Hell, rogues didn't even dual-wield until lvl 10 back then.

I dont care about classic wow, i already played it, the banner is nice but not enough, and a cloak? really? a cloak? hahaha, what the hell Blizzard? this is pathetic, no ticket this year.

    Can't wait for blizzcon.

I had no plans to get the virtual ticket, but for access to a Classic demo and a couple sweet cloaks, I'm in. Wasn't ever really into the pets, but the mounts rocked. The rest is bonus, including feeds of stuff I'll see on the front page here anyway.

Yes, it is worth it to me.

/1 First one to find me gets 10g.
But that's the thing, the pirate ship already is the Blizzcon Mount from last year, with a bit of wings added.

Yes you are. For 99 percent of people its give us mounts or gtfo.

So we've got the Blizzard Marketing Event to promote their own products (Blizzcon, which is marketing/PR that you the consumer pay for).

Then there's the WoW Classic demo, which is a demo for a game that Blizzard already produced 14 years ago and is now reselling.

    Then there's a cloak.

Sorry, hard pass. If you want my money you need to up your game, Blizz. Especially when you just released a mount attached to subscribing to WoW. Do better.

from the announcement video, it sounds kinda like they'll be including demos with the ticket going forward.

that's pretty cool, imo. i just hope it doesn't cause them to rush release anymore expansions like bfa was.
