Zandalari & Kul Tiran Allied Race Update
Blizzard has updated the Zandalari Troll and Kul Tiran race options.

  • Warlock was incorrectly listed as an available option for Zandalari at the What’s Next panel at BlizzCon. The Zandalari have no connection to fel magic, and will not be able to be Warlocks.
  • Mage was incorrectly omitted as an available option for Kul Tirans in the panel and on the World of Warcraft website. While Kul Tiran Mages are relatively uncommon, there are a few prominent examples, and so Kul Tiran characters will be allowed to play as Mage.

We apologize for the confusion that these errors have caused.

This wasn't an error in communication. You just realized after the fact that your judgment was a bit lacking and so you changed some things.
This was simply what it is, an error. We posted one thing on the website and one thing in the slides at the panels. This was a misalignment on assets so we're correcting that now. It happens.

This post reeks of entitlement. People make mistakes, people have opinions, people change their opinions. Is nothing ever good enough for you people? Disgusting.
And when people own up to their mistakes, others forgive them and move on. This isn't Blizzard owning up to their mistake. If they would have simply said "we took the feedback into consideration and agree that the Zandalari have too many class options and the Kul'Tirans don't have enough, so we're removing Warlocks and adding Mages", yeah there might have been some people upset but it would have been honest.

Pretending it was all a communication error accomplishes nothing for them. It makes them look unprofessional, because it implies that they didn't even double-check the information they release to the public at a big event they created solely for this purpose, nor did they double check the information on their own website. If that was a communication mistake, how many more were there?

BFA isn't doing so hot right now in big part because a lot of players feel like Blizzard didn't listen to their feedback during the beta, and they feel like the end result was something rushed and unfinished. Admitting they changed their minds after listening to the feedback, instead of pretending they once again rushed something and did it poorly, would have gone a long way in improving people's view of the company at the moment.

Or they could add classes and not detract others. There's hardly any class and combinations that shouldn't be allowed. Especially if you make a new regular class like monk and retroactively add them to old races.

Mostly old MMO's, most modern ones are "any race can be anything" because that's what people want. You can scream lore all you want, but the fact is, most people don't care, they just want to play the class they want, on the race they want.

So this makes things uneven then...means class selection numbers are no long even.

Plus I guess they forgot about their own lore, no connection to Fel Magic...I guess they forgot about Demoniacs.

And that is why I'm sticking with Classic and I'm happy Blizzard is actually excited about making it.

Flippity floppety. Absolute cancer. I was excited about Zandalari Warlocks and it's pulled. Worst Blizzcon ever, zero hype for anything now.

You whine, you get your way. Such is basically everything nowadays. Also these people saying a zandarowarlock would have made you resub? Please. You’re likely on a month to month like everyone else.

Awful human beings? If you go to McDonalds and order fries and get a burger instead, do you not get a mad at the employees for that mistake? And tbh that is harder to avoid, this was just a case of them not even taking that one minute it takes to double-check the slides...that makes them poor employees. We are the customers, we buy their games, and we bought THE VIRTUAL TICKETS and were presented wrong information ON A SLIDESHOW, not a wrong answer to a Q&A question. Let's not even bring up the inexcusable technical problems they had with the Hearthstone panel, having them cut to the Overwatch stage earlier just to not look like total amateurs.
At this point, your only excuse for not being angry is that you don't own any Blizzard games and did not purchase the Virtual Ticket....else you're just an*insert random insult*...

Whelp, there goes the one thing in this expansion I was looking forward to. Guess I'll just stick to raiding with my guild, ignoring the rehashed story and hoping that maybe some day I can reroll my main to Zandalari. Smells like WoD (obviously subjective).

Oh God now people won't shut up about Zandalari Warlocks just like they went on about Paladins for months.

Right now I'd like to see about anyone give it a try above Ion...

Why do they even have class restrictions at this point...? I mean, some I can understand like for Demon Hunters and Death Knights where they have unique art assets (though I suppose Shamans, Paladins, and Warlocks have those in a lesser extent for their mounts), but not the rest.

I like how they say "Zandalari have no ties to Fel magic" ignoring that warlocks are also associated to Shadow magic, and they have been adding Zandalari Warlocks in the game, such as the Zandalari Spiritweavers in Isle of Thunder and Za'roco the Grifter, a named Zandalari Warlock, in Vol'dun. So you keep adding such elements but Zandalari can't be Warlocks, what kind of backwards logic is this, my god

Don't believe a word out of ANY blizz employee... they are following 1600 Penn. Ave. to a T... like they said they were addressing the issue of azerite acquisition by putting them in emissary caches.. and have given all on ONE since they said that, what 3 weeks ago? (for Alliance, I see posts saying horde players got 4 and 5 of them) Of course, they DID compromise the youtubers who sang their praises that they were "listening" the payer base... yeah right.

Good news for Jaina's Kul Tiran apprentices

Sorry for the Zandalari Warlocks The Throne of Thunder Warlock gear screams Zandalari Warlock for me. And i find strange that there aren't no affliction / destruction Zandalari Warlocks, even if they don't do demonology.

At least im happy for my future Zandalari Druid and Paladin, and my Kul Tiran Warrior.

So i've seen those Kul Tiran guys summoning water elements. I was like "are they mages?" .. Blizzcon panel, announcing shamans and no mages..i was like, ok, so those were shamans? O_O Strange, but i guess it makes sense? Now they go back on it, saying they can be mages...so now they are most likely mages...but that makes me wonder, has anyone ever seen a Kul Tiran shaman?
