Fifth Ring Now Available for Battle of Dazar'alor Gear on PTR Adventure Guide
The recent update on the PTR has added the fifth ring of traits to the new raid gear in the adventure journal.

  • The fifth ring has two spec specific trait options to choose between for each spec for your class.
  • The fourth ring continues to have one spec specific trait for each spec or the option of a general trait.

Raid Testing Schedule - November 8th-12th

BOTH FACTIONS:
Testing is open for both factions. However, for some bosses, raid members will temporarily re-live events as the opposite faction using a story flashback.

Thursday, November 8th

Jadefire Masters - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
13:00 PST (16:00 EST, 22:00 CET)
Conclave of the Chosen - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
14:00 PST (17:00 EST, 23:00 CET)
Horde will experience this boss as if they were Alliance.

Friday, November 9th

Mekkatorque - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
13:00 PST (16:00 EST, 22:00 CET)
Alliance will experience this boss as if they were Horde.
Grong - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
14:00 PST (17:00 EST, 23:00 CET)
Normal Battle of Dazar'alor
16:00 PST (19:00 EST, 1:00 CET)

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?
A: In Zuldazar, Boralus, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade III in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?
A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players' effective level to 120 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?
A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we're satisfied that we've received that information for a given boss, we'll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.

This is very good news, and the decent thing to do. To many this might not seem significant, but this is one of the very rare instances where Blizzard reins in their greed. I hope this isn't simply to placate people after the diablo fiasco. I hope more decency is on the horizon for Blizzard, like maybe add honor, conquest, justice and valor back to the game.

But hey maybe that's not all to it yet, but i've got the feeling it might be so. At least people who like endgame a lot will have a better time now. I'm probably just not the type of player that's being appealed to anymore. Wish they'd prove me wrong.
They made efforts to improve leveling by slowing down monster killing, etc.

That had the consequence of making leveling much slower.

They have decided that they want the leveling experience to take a similar amount of time as before, but make fighting mobs feel more dangerous.

You don't improve the leveling experience by making it take longer to get to the meat of the game. You do it by making mobs feel dangerous and rewarding to kill, and then you reduce the amt of xp required to off set that side effect.

Leveling desperately needs an Artifact-like progression tree filled with passives. A talent every tier every 15 levels doesn't cut it especially when you have access to virtually all of your abilities by the time you're level 80. Getting a small something every level would mean A LOT to the feeling of character progression and Legion-style passive abilities would make specs feel less bland without bloating the action bars.

It's not like any of that is contradictory though. If someone says that Blizzard tried to force people into buying boosts, obviously that person will think "nobody is leveling/buying boosts" when Blizzard nerfs the XP twice within a few months.

And honestly, why should the community be happy about this change? There wasn't any big call for leveling to take longer in the first place and it was not well received when they did it. If you go to someone's house and put a massive hole in a wall, then come back a few months later to put a picture frame over the hole, you can't expect the person to be grateful for it.

Just when I decided to level my first allied race. But since I'm very much bored with the end game, I'll continue leveling anyway.

This looks awesome. Especially the 50-90 levels felt really really slow. I wish they'd put this on live now.

Don't change those level requirements as they are on PTR now, and that's the first good step in a long ass time Blizzard have taken with this game.

I don't know if I'm in the minority or not, I haven't heard anyone complaining about it but I personally feel the 110-120 leveling speed is fine. I just dinged my 12th 120 last night and all but my main got to 120 via Vol'dun + Dungeons. 1-110 however I felt was needed, thanks Blizz.

They only came back and put a frame over the 25% or so of the hole. Levelling still takes way too fucking long and I doubt reducing time from 120 hrs to 80 is going to make a lot more people want to spend 2 work weeks levelling an alt.

All this really says is that boost sales have capped out and now players who used to stay subbed doing things like levelling alts are also dropping out.

They overdid it with lvl scaling, removing power and gear progression and gutting alternative paths like RAF for the people who wanted to go fast.
Level scaling was what was needed for people wanting to play through the story and who didn't care how long it took. For everyone else, it was a massive negative that needs even more reversion if they are going to continue to put more and more gimmicky allied races in the game.

Awesome. The leveling is fine now with the scaling but the XP requirements were a bit too much especially in the BC/Wrath area where it slows waaaaaay down.

It's extremely whiny first of all, always forcing the negative side of anything.

The whininess is further exemplified by your example. A hole in -your- house, and then a picture frame over it, shows that you're both very entitled (it's Blizzard's house if anything, let's say they change a hall in a museum/theme park) and whiny (if they revert a change, it isn't "hanging a picture frame over the hole", but repairing the hole/changing the hall back to what it was). I'm happy for the change, why should I be constantly looking for things to cry about?
