Warcraft Literature Chronology

I think this is a page that should be bookmarked by any Warcraft Lore enthusiast.

I love how you need to know the books to really understand what's happening in WoW.
Like they couldn't write the good stuff in-game - you NEED to read the books or the WoW's story feels shallow and boring.

I really enjoyed Warcraft Legends and the class comics. Also enjoyed Starcraft Frontlines and the Ghost Academy comics. Got some great artists in those.

A really nice list, the one that was originally on the Warcraft website was really good as well but I am sure stuff is missing since the rework, would suppose anyone would know a nice website that shows timeline order of the books ? i would be very intrested in reading them in timeline order.

Literally every Franchise that has lasted more than 10years has a ton of Extended universe books series to it. It isn't milking the Franchise it is giving stories larger than that which can be portrayed within it a way to be told.

Most of these stories would make no sense to be told in WoW as they are either in a different time that our Characters exist or tell the stories of what people are doing away from everyone else.

Some of the books included in orcs vs humans happen 10 thousand year before the events of the game?

WoW lore sucks partly because 90% of the lore isn't even available in the actual game.

Why the hate on the books? I think it's cool that there are so many, and more important the few that I've read are very good (I'm sure most of them are) and it's always nice to have a collection.

It is sad what they're doing with the story in game but that's a separate problem.

And this is why I refuse to buy the books as I don't want to support this sort of practise. Which is a shame since I have played all warcraft games and played WoW since Vanilla and would love to know the story fully - but I feel like I should get that already for the amount I pay. Or at the very least, a lot more than what WoW has given. x_x

So you would rather have the lore not exist in the first place / cut a raid tier to show it ingame or have it summarized by a random dwarf in a 5 min quest ?
