High Tinker Mekkatorque is a boss encounter in the Battle of Dazar'alor raid in World of Warcraft. Our strategy guide will help you to defeat the High Tinker Mekkatorque encounter and the loot listing below contains all of the loot he drops on each difficulty.

Overview

High Tinker Mekkatorque is the first Horde story encounter. It will be experienced by Alliance through a flashback, where they will be transformed to Horde races. Regardless, both factions will experience the same encounter and mechanics.

Fight Basics

• This is a three phased encounter that requires two tanks.
• The encounter will put your raids communication skills to the test.

Phase 1

• Mekkatorque's attacks on the tank will grant him Electroshock Amplification, which stacks. This is removed when he attacks a new target.
• Random players will be targeted by Buster Cannon, which fires a large energy ball that deals deadly damage and reduces haste if hit.
• The boss will use Heavy Thursters and jump to a random ranged player. The initial take off and the landing of this ability deal heavy damage.
• Random players will receive the Gigavolt Charge debuff which lasts for 15 seconds and deals damage. When it expires, it will deal damage to anyone that is in line of sight of the player who detonated, and apply a 30 second DoT to them.
• Approximately every 60 seconds, the boss will cast World Enlarger which debuffs random players with Shrunk for 20 seconds. These players will deal no damage while debuffed.
• If full-sized raid members walk across a Shrunk debuffed raid member at any time, they will become trampled and deal heavy damage to anyone near them and be stunned temporarily.
• Shrunk players can enter Spark Bots, which are adds wandering around the encounter area pulsing AoE.
• Spark Bots can only be killed by Shrunk players completing a task once inside the bot.
• Spark Bots can be crowd controlled. On Heroic, the longer they are alive the less effective crowd control becomes, until they are immune.
• When inside the Spark Bot, Shrunk players will see five different color icons on their vehicle action bar. Players must enter a 3 button shutdown code to disable the bot. Any incorrect entry will kick the player out of the bot and deal massive damage to them.
• Once inside a Spark Bot, players have 60 seconds to figure out the shutdown code. Only players that are not inside the bot can see your shutdown code. Your fellow raiders must look at your bot and identify the symbols you must hit, and communicate it to you.
• On Heroic difficulty, only Shrunk players inside Spark Bots can see other Spark Bot player's codes.

• Additionally, on Heroic Mekkatorque will cast Wormhole Generator which marks random player, then five seconds later ports the entire raid to that person.
• These abilities repeat until 40%, when Mekkatorque enters Phase 2.

Phase 2

• The boss flies into the sky and is immune to damage.
• He will continue to use Gigavolt Charge and debuff players with Shrunk.
• Mekkatorque will gain one new ability called Signal Exploding Sheep.
• Exploding sheep will fall from the sky and begin to cast Critter Explosion. After 8 seconds, anyone within ~8 yards of the sheep casting Critter Explosion will be killed.
• Upon exploding, the sheep send waves out Sheep Shrapnel which players must dodge.
• This phase is time based, and the final phase will begin when Mekkatorque lands.

Phase 3

• The final phase is nearly identical to the first phase with one exception.
• Mekkatorque now is buffed with Hyperdrive, this increases his attack speed by 30% and causes him to deal damage to random players with each melee attack.
• All other mechanics remain the same, and the fight ends when the boss is killed.

Strategies by Role

All Roles

• All players must dodge Buster Cannon.
• Any brown circles on the ground should be avoided (when the boss uses Heavy Thrusters).
• You must get line of sight around the rocks or ruins when debuffed with Gigavolt Charge.
• Watch out for Shrunk players and do not step on them.
• Make a plan for how shutdown codes will be communicated.
• On Heroic, when ported by the Wormhole Generator, assign one direction for Shrunken players to run away to avoid Trample.

DPS

• Use crowd control abilities on Spark Bots.

Healers

• Damage will ramp up in the final phase, be prepared to use externals on tanks and raid cooldowns.

Tanks

• Taunt swap at ~8 stacks of Electroshock Amplification.

High Tinker Mekkatorque drops item level 340 (LFR), 355 (Normal), 370 (Heroic), 385 (Mythic) loot. Loot can have higher item levels if it becomes Titanforged or Warforged.
