Update to Recent Suspensions

We recently completed a wave of suspensions for World of Warcraft accounts that were found to be operating third-party software that undermines the security of the World of Warcraft client. Reverse engineering and bypassing security protocols that safeguard against client modification is a clear violation of our Terms of Service, and we regularly take action against such behavior.

Many of the suspensions issued were for 180 days, as the exploit we detected allows for very malicious activities such as gameplay automation or rotation/interrupt botting. Upon further review, we found that some suspended accounts appeared to be only using the detected exploit to do client-side character model alteration. That is an activity that we would prefer to respond to with a warning, rather than a suspension, this time. As a result, we have reversed all of the suspensions issued in this action.

The use of third party software that modifies the World of Warcraft game client is against our Terms of Service. We expect players to remove such third party software, or their accounts will be subject to further action. Any future use of software that bypasses the security of the game client, regardless of intention or gameplay advantage, will be detected and sanctioned with increased penalties.

it's lame to ban tiddy mods. they don't hurt anything.

i really think they should just give a nude option for the game, like how conan exiles does it. have a setting where you see full, partial, or no nudity.

It's lame to run those mods, and why risk it when it's against the rules?

People do know there is tons of free *exotic entertainment* out there on the net, right?

Hahahaha, should’ve been suspensions instead of warnings. Stop messing with the game and you won’t be banned. Simple.

They're not gonna give a "nude option" man, come on, be realistic.

I mean if you wanna see tits in a video game there's always the asian games with titty & ass sliders and such, go play those - or risk it in WoW and get banned - but they ain't gonna give that option, possibly ever

I think you mean you can't eat your cake and have it too. Never understood why that quote was phrased incorrectly, because you can definitely have your cake and then eat it, but you can't eat your cake and then still have it.

eh, i'm not interested in using mods like that. i don't even use normal addons for bars and stuff.

it's not about getting off to these games for me though, even with skyrim the sex animations are usually shit. i just like the realism of fully naked being possible.

They're not wrong. It's their client, their ToS.

Well if you want "options" about nudity, talents, endgame or virtually anything, WoW is not the game for ya

Breaking their ToS and not expecting a ban? lolok. It's their game and their terms, it doesn't matter if it does harm or not it's their call.

Funniest thing about this was people posting screenshots of completely empty Lion's Pride Inn on RP servers

    Realism? Realism? LOL

Those mods are typically about giving characters massive unrealistic breasts...

Maybe he/she also has huge bewbs and that's why he/she asks for realism?

Just implement a slider in character creation to adjust boob size, and those guys wouldn't need to tinker with the client!

I'd give you a silver medal if I could. Thank you for the information! All I knew was that the Unabomber would say it in the "correct" order as well

No permabans for botting, this tells you everything you need to know about Blizzard nowadays.

Regardless of your point of view on whether people should be allowed to use tmorph and similar things, it does seem a bit shitty to tolerate that people use it for over a decade before randomly just banning outright for 6 months with no warning at all.

A warning, rather than a ban, is the way to go. If people want to continue using these things after the warning, then by all means ramp it up to a ban. But this random zero tolerance ban after years upon years of allowing people to use it was a little heavy handed
