Patch 8.2 PTR - Conflict and Strife PvP Talent Essence
The latest PTR update added a new essence, Conflict and Strife, to the repertoire of options currently in the patch. However, this one is a little more interesting as its major slot allows a specific predetermined talent from your spec's PvP talent pool to be used in PvE content at all times. Here is a list of what each class and spec gets from this trait.

      • Moonkin Aura - Starsurge grants 4% spell critical strike chance to 8 allies within 40 yards for 18 sec, stacking up to 3 times.
    • Feral
      • Leader of the Pack - While in Cat Form, you increase the melee and ranged critical chance of raid members within 40 yards by 5%. Leader of the Pack also causes affected targets to heal themselves for 4% of their maximum health when they critically hit with a melee or ranged attack. The healing effect cannot occur more than once every 6 sec.
    • Guardian
      • Sharpened Claws - Maul increases the damage done by your Swipe and Thrash by 25% for 6 sec.
    • Restoration
      • Overgrowth - Instantly applies Lifebloom, Rejuvenation, Wild Growth, and Regrowth's heal over time effect to the target.

    • Beast Mastery
      • Survival Tactics - Feign Death removes all harmful magical effects, and reduces damage taken by 99% for 1.5 sec.
    • Marksmanship
      • Survival Tactics - Feign Death removes all harmful magical effects, and reduces damage taken by 99% for 1.5 sec.
    • Survival
      • Survival Tactics - Feign Death removes all harmful magical effects, and reduces damage taken by 99% for 1.5 sec.
  • Mage (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Arcane
      • Arcane Empowerment - Clearcasting can now stack 2 additional times, and increases the damage of Arcane Missiles by 5% per stack. Clearcasting no longer reduces the mana cost of Arcane Explosion.
    • Fire
      • Flamecannon - After standing still in combat for 2 sec, your maximum health increases by 3%, damage done increases by 3%, and range of your Fire spells increase by 3 yards. This effect stacks up to 5 times and lasts for 5 sec.
    • Frost
      • Concentrated Coolness - Frozen Orb's damage is increased by 10% and is now castable at a location with a 40 yard range but no longer moves.
  • Monk (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Brewmaster
      • Hot Trub - Purifying Brew deals 30% of your purified staggered damage to all enemies within 10 yards.
    • Mistweaver
      • Way of the Crane - Increases your Physical damage by 25%, you remove and become immune to all snare and root effects and you heal up to 3 nearest allies for 150% of all damage done. Lasts 15 sec.
    • Windwalker
      • Reverse Harm - Heals a friendly target for 8% of their maximum health, and causes 100% of the amount healed to instantly be dealt to the nearest enemy as Nature damage within 5 yards. Generates 2 Chi.
  • Paladin (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Holy
      • Divine Favor - Your next Holy Light or Flash of Light is increased by 100%, costs no mana and is unable to be interrupted.
    • Protection
      • Steed of Glory - Your Divine Steed lasts for an additional 2 sec. While active you become immune to movement impairing effects, and you knock back enemies that you move through.
    • Retribution
      • Unbound Freedom - Blessing of Freedom also increases movement speed by 30%.
  • Priest (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Discipline
      • Premonition - Heals nearby targets within 20 yards for [ 75% of Spell Power ], and applies Atonement to yourself. Deals [ PS * BC1 ] Shadow damage to yourself for each Atonement you have active, and increases their duration by [ 5 + 0.1% of Spell Power ] sec.
    • Holy
      • Rapid Mending - Prayer of Mending is now instant cast, and its jump range is increased by 10 yards.
    • Shadow
  • Rogue (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Assassination
      • Smoke Bomb - Creates a cloud of thick smoke in an 8 yard radius around the Rogue for 5 sec. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the smoke cloud.
    • Outlaw
      • Smoke Bomb - Creates a cloud of thick smoke in an 8 yard radius around the Rogue for 5 sec. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the smoke cloud.
    • Subtlety
      • Smoke Bomb - Creates a cloud of thick smoke in an 8 yard radius around the Rogue for 5 sec. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the smoke cloud.
  • Shaman (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Elemental
      • Lightning Lasso - Grips the target in lightning, stunning the target and dealing O2% of the target's maximum health in Nature damage over 5 sec. Can move while channeling.
    • Enhancement
      • Ride the Lightning - If there are more than 2 enemies within 8 yards when you cast Stormstrike, you also cast a Chain Lightning on the target, dealing [ 50% of Spell Power ] Nature damage. Otherwise, you conjure bolts of lightning to up to 2 furthest enemies within 40 yards dealing [ 50% of Spell Power ] Nature damage.
    • Restoration
      • Ancestral Gift - You become immune to Silence and Interrupt effects for 5 sec after using Spiritwalker's Grace.
  • Warlock (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Affliction
      • Endless Affliction - Your Unstable Affliction deals the same damage as normal, but its duration is increased by 6 sec.
    • Demonology
      • Nether Ward - Surrounds the caster with a shield that lasts 3 sec, reflecting all harmful spells cast on you.
    • Destruction
      • Demon Armor - Protects the caster, increasing maximum health by 10% and increases armor by 150%.
  • Warrior (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Arms
      • Sharpen Blade - When activated, your next Mortal Strike will deal 15% increased damage and reduce healing taken by 50% for 6 sec.
    • Fury
      • Battle Trance - You go into a trance causing you to regenerate 3% of your health and generate 5 Rage every 3 sec for 18 sec after using Raging Blow twice in a row on a target. Using Raging Blow on a new target will cancel this effect.

    Moonkin is kinda... broken, and really not needed for an already op spec.

    Meanwhile unholy gets necrotic strike which is 99% of the time useless in pve, esspecially since %-dmg is scaling of the players hp, so thats like an 20k shield when geared.

    As someone who only likes to PvE (high-end raiding on top of that, 0 interest in islands/pushing keys), i already feel the angry that i'll be having to do content i have no interest/knowledge in, just so i can maximize my utility in raids. Once again blizzard creates a problem that they'll eventually have to fix later..

    Is it to much to ask that essences are bound to their own content, or letting us get them by doing whatever content we preferred? during legion you could get every single legendary by doing the content you actually liked, instead of having to do PvP so you would be able to min-max your PvE experience...

    No one forces you to do that. The rank 3 pvp talent essence is actually even for a PVE player "easy" to get.

    They need to either make all the DPS ones increase DPS or none of them

    Moonkin get something insane... rogues get... smokebomb
    All three mage specs get dmg increase.... demo warlock gets a shield... that reflects harmful spells... warlocks aren't getting hit in pve.

    Meanwhile, Ret gets to move 30% unless you need to hold on to Freedom to actually remove a snare with.

    Almost like when you slap movement speed onto it, it makes the design counter-intuitive because you want to move as fast as you can usually, yet in doing so you're not going to be removing snares all the time.

    I don't see anything saying you have to do PvP to get this.
    Just that it allows you to use a PvP talent in PvE.

    EDIT - just saw the image saying the next rank comes from rated, but the rank after that is the legendary cosmetic appearance, no?

    No we got enough homogenization, if your pvp talent is trash just use another Essence.

    Hum how does the dk frost one works?
    I mean dealing 6% of a boss total life with one strike is enormous. 17 dk frost and the boss die on pull.

    All 3 of the warlock is nearly useless for PVE.

    What the hell... I can think of a billion other better and more CONSISTENT pvp traits to go with that list. Even amongst the warlock traits ONLY, there's 2 defensive and 1 dps "increase".

    I feel sorry for rogues and hunters is only slightly better. I wonder which raid mechanic in Palace it's going to become necessary to bring a hunter for so that it can be ignored.

    It is based on pvp rewards. Rank 2 is i belive hit 1k rating..

    This is dumb. Some specs get DPS increases, while others (Hunters) get a defensive ability.

    I really hope these are just placeholders, because this crap doesn't seem balanced in the slightest.

    I'm so confused. Some of these talents are BROKEN and absolutely INSANE dps/hps increases, while others get defensive skills? wtf?

    I don't see the Boomkin, Feral, or Disc Priest ones going live. One Boomy and one Feral would be mandatory, and Premonition would increase a Disc Priest's raid output substantially while also giving huge mana savings.

    Get out of here with that crap, people wanted class specific things, the entire essence system should have been class/spec specific. Now they do give you one class/spec specific thing and most of them are garbage.

    So feral gets back an ability that we had in vanilla up until legion, which was useful in raids, through a pvp essence? Makes sense.

    What are you talking about there are like 3 other spec specific Major Essences. Pick one of them then. Or roll one of the classes you think will have that broken essence. This is good for the game. If everyone gets the same it will be boring af.
