The Eternal Palace Boss Guides » Blackwater Behemoth
Blackwater Behemoth is a boss encounter in The Eternal Palace raid in World of Warcraft. Our strategy guide will help you to defeat Blackwater Behemoth encounter and the loot listing below contains all of the loot he drops on each difficulty.
Overview
Blackwater Behemoth is the second encounter in The Eternal Palace. It is a single boss encounter requiring two tanks and a balance of healers and DPS, depending on your raid size.
Fight Basics (Normal and Heroic)
- When heading to the encounter space, all players must click on an Oxygren-Rich Membrane in order to breath and swim faster.
- Engaging the boss applies Darkest Depths to all players, making them unhealable.
- Killing a neutral Shimmerskin Pufferfish will create a cloud of Bioluminescence. There are two fish per platform.
- Players who enter this cloud will receive a 45-second buff allowing them to be healed as normal.
- If a player leaves the current platform while still affected by Bioluminescence, they will receive a warning.
- If the player does not return to the platform, a creature from the depths will instantly kill them.
- The boss will occasionally cast Shock Pulse which knocks players back.
- If players are within 5 yards of each other, they will take damage from Bioelectric Feelers every few seconds.
- Every 90 seconds the boss will move to a new platform, requiring the raid to swim to it.
- The boss will channel Cavitation which must be interrupted before it completes.
- On Normal difficulty, the raid's Bioluminescence will be automatically removed when moving to the next platform.
- On Heroic difficulty, the raid must wait to let their Bioluminescence buff fall off before following the boss.
- During the swim to the next platform, players must avoid Jellyfish. Touching one will apply a DoT and on Heroic and higher, re-apply Bioluminescence resulting in death shortly after.
- The boss will move platforms a total of three times. The raid must kill him before they run out Bioluminescence on the final platform.
Strategies by Role
All Roles
- Stay spread out at least five yards as much as possible. Use the vertical space to spread out above and below players.
- Try to be as far as you safely can be from the boss during Shock Pulse, but quickly swim back if pushed off the platform.
- Everyone but the tanks should acquire Bioluminescence when the fish are killed, by swimming into the cloud.
DPS
- Take talents and essences for Single Target damage.
- Kill one Shimmerskin Pufferfish at the start of the encounter, and kill the second as your Bioluminescence fades.
- Healthstones and Health Potions are useful before and after Shock Pulse if you are low HP.
- The boss moves platforms every 90 seconds, time your cooldowns appropriately so they are not wasted.
Healers
- The raid will take occasional damage from Toxic Spines as well as Bioelectric Feelers (if not spread out).
- Shock Pulse is the largest burst of dmg on the raid.
- Shield effects work on players who are unhealable due to lack of Bioluminescence.
- Tanks will take damage from a DoT, and swap every 15 seconds, heal them appropriately.
Tanks
- Feeding Frenzy increases the boss's attack speed for each melee hit on the same target.
- Radiant Biomass will allow you to be healable, do not swim out to the Pufferfish.
- Taunt swap roughly every 15 seconds when your debuff is refreshed to ensure stacks are manageable and you are both healable.
Mythic Blackwater Behemoth Strategy Guide
- A detailed Mythic guide will be available once Mythic difficulty unlocks, and the boss is defeated.
