WoW Classic Hotfix - Raid Party XP Bug

We are rolling out a hotfix right now, to all realms, that should correct this. Going forward, XP awarded should be significantly lower for parties of 6 or more players.

Again, thank you very much for your feedback.

Barron's - Activision Stock Potential Price Increase
Reuters recently cited a Barron's report that pointed to a potential stock price growth due the positive reception of World of Warcraft classic.

Barron’s cited reports of hours-long wait times to log into the game, and quoted Blizzard Entertainment, a subsidiary of Activision, as saying World of Warcraft Classic set a record for launch-day concurrent viewers on Twitch, a platform which hosts live-streams of gamers playing which people can watch.

“The business model for World of Warcraft is highly profitable, with a subscription costing $15 a month. If World of Warcraft Classic drives a couple million new subscribers for a few quarters, it would boost the company’s earnings significantly,” Barron’s said.

Lets demand the same punishment as people got on live servers for the xp potions.

I feel as though there may be a little biased towards the success of Classic. Activision's stock goes up/down all the time, corresponding with WoW patch/expansion releases. No report on those. Classic comes out. Stock goes up (a negligible amount, btw). It's reported front page. Anyone else notice this? I mean, I love Classic and am non-stop playing it, but we should be objective here.

Lmao they're way overestimating how many people will play classic for 9 months. Clueless "financial analysts".

They're jumping the gun a little. I expect a lot of people to drop off soon.

I never wanted Classic and am not touching it with a 10 foot pole.

I also knew it would be a good for Blizzard in the end. Now that most of the work on it is complete, they don't have to do much of anything, for that investment to just keep bringing in free money for them. And unlike the live game, they'll not have to generate new content for it. It's very financially lucrative.

I just hope this will end up bringing the player more benefits too. More money that Blizz is willing to pump into WoW, hopefully. I hope so, because Classic will also draw players out of retail. So retail needs a lot more love.

More server mergers for small realms like mine is some love I would enjoy Blizzard, if you're taking requests.

Fixing the xp bug is one thing. They should remove layering at the same time.

Also nothing really exciting considering the stock price. Its the same as for every addon release or every other game of every other company that gets released and it will follow the same trend.

That's 9-12 months of millions of subs added. I'm not sure that's what we'll see. I imagine it will peak with BG's being released. That will tell the tale.

yeah that's why i'm in a 30 minute queue at 11:30 pm on a Sunday night and 95% of the other servers are either full or high.

What the Classic haters fail to understand is that Classic has been a boon to Blizzard. This report from Barren's and the rise in stock price is a huge win for Blizzard. Classic has brought a lot of positive attention both to Blizzard and the franchise of WoW, again. That ultimately will benefit Retail in one of two ways: 1) Blizzard earning more will allow them to devote more resources to Retail since Classic has limited on-going costs 2) some portion of returning players and/or new players attracted by all the buzz may well dabble in or try Retail.

What Retailers / haters should do, instead of their non-stop whining, is be happy that Classic is a success and understand that they are the ultimate beneficiaries of the success of Classic.

Pretty sure you still get xp, just can't do quests that aren't for raids.

Just because someone points out that classic does indeed already lose interest to a bunch of people doesnt make em instantly a "retailer classic hater".

Youre delusional if you truely belive the numbers of active people on classic will even stay remotely to what they are the first week.

pretty much every dungeon (there are some exeptions) could be run in a at max 10 man raid. ofc that means quests did not work if not marked as raid quests.
