DDoS attack affecting Blizzard servers

Does it seem like this is still affecting anyone else? I've had worse latency and frequent DC's from the Whitemane server even up until this last hour.

guys, this has being going on for like 2 days..fix it asap blizz..whats going on..battlenet cant connect even, tracert failed like no tomorrow!

He will be going to jail for this like the last guy, not sure why he thought he could get away with it. Hopefully Blizz credits everyone with a free day.

last time this happened (several years ago) i think the infracters went to prison, or were at least sued, icr right now, but yeah, pretty f-n stupid to attack a billion-dollar company and impact their revenue....not gonna end well me thinks

Always their entire reason for pulling off such an attack is irrational. Unless you have some rational reason for sping such a thing.

Blizzard is constantly under massive ddos attacks and you nearly never notice anything. This one must be huge.

Usualy a with disabling services with a ddos isn't the primary Motive of the ddos. Usualy the ddos has the purpose of over loading the security systems to try and sneak a hack in to steal data like account data.

Blizzard cannot fix much of anything except to co-operate with their internet providers since the DDOS attacks are targeted to nodes upstream of their network infrastructure. It's much easier to attack nodes with less security that are upstream of Blizzard. These are mostly provider nodes. This is also why you can sometimes see side effects on other areas of the internet that also rely on those nodes.
