Fix for Repeat Instance Bug Exploit

Realm restarts are scheduled for 3:00 a.m. PDT (6:00 a.m. EDT) in order to apply this fix.

As soon as possible, we will identify those who knowingly abused this bug in exploitative manner. We will then take appropriate punitive measures.

As a reminder, Blizzard’s End User License Agreement defines cheats as “methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods.”

As always, thank you for your feedback on this matter.

    Someone's been naughty...

I hope the punishments fit the crime.

They really should clarify if this is on Live or Classic.

Bluepost is in the "WoW Classic General Discussion" forum. Good bet, this is regarding Classic (if one does a small amount of personal research)

Welp looks like those who abused layering to get Baron Rivendare mounts gonna be banned. For those who didn’t know you could clear a dungeon then have one member leave and be invited to a different layer then reinvite the group to instantly respawn all the trash and bosses in a dungeon.

holy shit, that's actually pretty scary that Layering even seems to work in Instances.

I hope their Classic ban applies to retail too.

Wow, that's some major abuse right there. Especially when it plays right into the community hot point, layering.

I'm sure Blizz will not be kind to abusers this time around.

Players generated over 100k gold. This is in classic. They've royally fucked the economy. Not only that, even if the exploiters were permanently banned, any gold or items that they dumped into the economy/AH will not be removed.

The title of this post literally says "WOW CLASSIC"

Of course, you seemed to be too busy mashing your keyboard as fast as possible to take 2 seconds to read the title of the news post.

Just like the last time this was claimed, there was 0 proof of it. Stop spreading rumors.

You cannot get "100k gold" in 48 hours by killing a 5man dungeon boss over and over.

I see this new mentality creeping into feedback. "Yeah, we know it's broken/an exploit, but it's fun so leave it alone"

What people fail to think about in an MMO environment though is that today's fun, is tomorrow's ruined server economy. It's not about having fun today, it's about making sure the game is in a healthy state 3 weeks from now.

Who started the whole FUN DETECTED meme?

Because it's always been pretty fucking tedious imo.
