Finduin and Gillvanas Blizzcon Pet Rewards
Earlier today Blizzard announced the in-game rewards for purchasing a Blizzcon Virtual Ticket. Below are the two Murloc pets for World of Warcraft, Finduin for the Alliance and Gillvanas for the Horde.

Honor Requirement Changes for Specific Essences
Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
We’re currently working on a hotfix to update the Honor requirement necessary to unlock the Artifice of Time, Blood of the Enemy, and Sphere of Suppression Rank 2 and 3 Essences. We are in the process of applying the hotfix to make the following changes:

  • Artifice of Time, Blood of the Enemy, and Sphere of Suppression Rank 2 now requires 10,000 Honor (was 15,000 Honor) and Rank 3 now requires 30,000 Honor (was 50,000 Honor).
  • Developers’ note: We fixed a bug that incorrectly allowed Honor rewarded from quests and mercenary mode bonuses to contribute toward the “Battlefield Brawler” and “Battlefield Tactician” achievements required to unlock these Essences. To account for the quests and mercenary mode rewards no longer contributing credit toward these achievements, we have reduced the Honor amount necessary to earn these Essences. Rank 4 for these Essences will remain unchanged. Players who are now at or above the new Honor value will need to earn some Honor for the achievement to update.

As always, this change is a work in progress. We’ll let you know if we change plans, and you’ll see the final adjustment in the final hotfix notes.

Thank you!
With the release of 8.2.5, players have discovered that the following quests that award honor from epic battlegrounds no longer count toward the Battlefield Brawler, Battlefield Tactician, or Battlefield Master achievements.

I feel like they would sell more virtual tickets if the rewards were a little more serious.

Tbf, pretty sure Blizzard's got a better idea on what sells than his feels.

Thank the Light the Murloc pets are back again!

An in-store pet would be $10, we're getting two so $20. Not sure how much value Overwatch skins, Heroes mounts, and Hearthstone cards have. Then on top of that all the Blizzcon stuff itself, which most people consider the meat of the ticket and the side goodies the gravy. I'd say it's a good deal. Unless you consider all the non-WoW stuff to be worth $0 and the Blizzcon stuff to be worth less than $30.

Stated in another thread, I like these in game goodies this year. Only gripe, albeit a very tiny one, would be giving Finduin a ponytail like Anduin like they gave Gillvanis the hood and hair.

    Those pets look nightmarish.

Gillvanus looks like a skaven and a vaporeon had an ugly baby. Whatever that other murloc is supposed to be, it doesn't look like anduin at all, just a murloc in armor. And we already have the crusader one for that, and it looks much better.

They look great too! Sadly the yeti suit isn't as cute in game as I had hoped.

Most companies would treat blizzcon as a marketing expense. Blizzard was smart enough to charge people to allow themselves to be marketed to even though the videos will be on youtube anyway. It makes sense to charge people for going to the event but charging people for a virtual ticket is absurd (even though I bought them in the past anyway).

Yes as opposed to that. A stupid costume and some generic murloc pets.

Or not horrendous. The whole Murloc thing was clever, until they decided to fashion one in Sylvanas' likeness.

My comment was in response to Korji who made the statement that people would take tickets more seriously if they got a mount. I was counting up the store value of the things you got as a bonus for buying the ticket plus the ability to watch Blizzcon and, to me, it looks totally worth it. Who apparently hates murlocs.

Except they seem to sell tickets just fine and aren’t too worried about it. Hasn’t it been sold out live every year, or extremely close to it, and virtual tickets are just icing on the cake?
I like how you stated generic Murloc pets, yet there isn’t really anything generic about them. At least use adjectives correctly. If you don’t like them or the design you could say ugly, for instance.

These in-game WoW rewards feel so cheap compared to the airship mounts. Not that I complain - getting "freebies" for purchasing a virtual ticket is basically selling cash-shop mounts/pets. I wish it'd just GO AWAY.

Nobody's forcing you to buy a ticket to Blizzcon, virtual or otherwise.
