  • Headless Horseman gear rewards are now 395 item level.
  • Headless Horseman's Hearthstone - Toy from last year purchased for 150 Tricky Treat.

Hallow’s End celebrates the break of the Forsaken from the Scourge.
Fun and mischief reign as the Innkeepers of Azeroth give treats, and tricks, to whomever asks.

The spookiest time of year has arrived once more, and the Headless Horseman rides forth to strike terror into the hearts and minds of Azeroth’s citizens.

When: October 18–November 1
Where: Trick-or-Treat throughout the inns of Azeroth, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor, and the Broken Isles (Dalaran) for tasty treats and currency to buy Hallow’s End delights.

All together now! —the Headless Horseman is back to set fire to Razor Hill and Goldshire once more. You’ll need to lend a hand on the bucket brigade to put them out and face the infamous rider.

Prepare yourselves, the bells have tolled! Shelter your weak, your young and your old! Each of you shall pay the final sum. Cry for mercy, the reckoning has come! - The Headless Horseman

It would be a lovely time of year to take a stroll through the Scarlet Monastery’s Graveyard if the Headless Horseman hadn’t decided to make it his new lair. If you're lucky and succeed in routing this menace from within, you may ride off with his steed.

Throughout Hallow’s End, characters level 20-120 will be able to queue up for this ghoulish encounter in the Dungeon Finder.

This year you’ll be able to exchange your Tricky Treats for a newly added toy:
  • The Headless Horseman’s Hearthstone

Head to Val’sharah to undertake a quest that begins with the Hag of the Crooked Tree in Bradensbrook. Follow the tale through to its culmination and you’ll receive some Tricky Treats and a chance of receiving one of four utterly bewitching hats.

  • Hat of the First Sister
  • Hat of the Second Sister
  • Hat of the Third Sister
  • Hat of the Youngest Sister

Mine also! I do wish they'd give it a bit of an update however in the wake of the Battle for Undercity and Sylvanas' departure. It's a little weird having to go back in time to burn the wicker man. Perhaps next expansion

Yeah I got to say, I'm surprised it got no updates, not even anything new or higher ilevel on the rings/sword/helm.

Do I resub to go another year trying to get the mount?

Not joking guys I've farmed every year since it came in 2.3 and I've never had it drop on any char. I think I must be in the the 0.00001% who's been fucked by luck every year.

Such a shame no updates. They really want to keep players subscribed. I was hoping to have a reason to log in. Guess not.

LOL at copy and paste blue post from last year.

Yeah, I have to say these yearly events are getting pretty stale and boring. It's the same quests and activities every year, never anything new. I mean I don't mind keeping some of it but my god add something new. Every year there should be something different and new to do. If Blizzard wants people to resubscribe and keep playing then this could be one way to do it.

Halloween is my favorite holiday so if they were to do this I know I'd probably come back for it.

Run the dungeon on every character you have. Also abuse the trial toons.

You are taking a single 1% chance at a boss daily while others are taking ten 1% chances at the boss.

Mounts are account wide. The game doesnt care what toon receives it.

    Calculate odds of getting mount:

Drop chance is X. Number of runs is Y.

    1 - ((1-X)^Y)

At 1% drop rate and 10 runs per day for 14 days then you have a 75% chance of getting the mount this event.

For reference: 5 runs per day for 14 days is 50% chance at the mount.

The mount only drops from the epic bag you get on high level characters (not sure the exact level this expansion)

Origonal most years I had 1 char, since wod I usualy did it on 3 a day. This year I think I'll run the full 10 but I'm nortorusly unlucky with loot it was a meme in my guild. Only luck I've had was the infinite dragon mount which I got week 1.

Just give them an iPad with a bunch of mobile games in it to play with and tell them to look away during all the stabbing scenes.

That's not how math works, dude. It's not "one of one hundred runs it will drop". It's one percent chance, period, first run or one hundredth or one thousandth. Someone could run this every day it's available, every year for a decade, and still never see it.

Agreed. Expected though as devs are probably heavily working on 9.0.

exactly, people keep forgetting how percentages work. just because something may be 1 in say 10 chances doesn't mean you will get it if you do it 10 times. What 1 in 10 means, each and every single attempt you have a 10% chance of it dropping.
