WoW Classic - Realm List Populations Updated -- 28 October

A few minutes ago, we enacted a change to how the populations are calculated in the WoW Classic realm list. Since shortly after the launch of WoW Classic, the realm list population labels have indicated real-time population levels.

Now, the Low/Medium/High/Full labels are based on peak population over the last 7 days. We believe this provides a more-useful picture of a realm’s population to players who are making decisions about which realm to play on or transfer to.

The realms which have not yet moved to one layer will continue to be marked “Layered”.

I got an email saying I was invited to the beta, and I had bought Spoils since last year's Blizzcon.

But on my battle net launcher it only shows a greyed "Install" button, no dropdown thingy or anything, how am I suposed to install this ?

Logout of your account on bnet launcher.

Then close battle.net and CRTL ALT DEL click Taskmanager and in Processes find BLizzard Update Agent forcefully close that as well.
Then just open battle.net launcher again and login and check if it's still greyed out then.

If what Mewhywhy said doesn't help, simply wait. Took me about 4 hours from mail arriving to beta appearing on the launcher, and I did all the logging out tricks and what have you.

Have you updated your graphic drivers? It's reccomended to do so before playing
They generally don't do the vs bot either, they want to test out the matchmaking and other things as well. RTS betas are always (I've done WarCraft, StarCraft, StarCraft 2, and the expansions) just competitive multi.

Hmmm interesting. Guess we'll get bot matches along the road

Blizzard wanting to hide how many people have already stopped playing classic by only showing the "Peak" average instead of players seeing just how few people are on during the non peak times.

Got into beta. I have to say it feels a lot rawer than I thought it would at this point. But the "feel" seems reasonable to the traditional units and such which is a good sign because the look has certainly been upgraded (subjectively, I do understand some like or dont like it).

You're right, AoS was first made in SC. But the first dota-like map I played in WC3 was indeed called Aeon of Strife, named for the famous SC level. Later on I think it was renamed to Defense of the Ancients

I had the option to install Wednesday at 5:30 (maybe earlier), but didn't get mail-invite until 15:00 same day.

Anyway, tried to run the game, but never started a match itself, because the PvP part doesn't hold any interest for me.
But the selection screen, looked like 20 years old VGA graphics... Wasn't the whole idea, to have a graphic revamp?

Totally agree on the selection screen. It's plain awful. If that's what they intend to go with, I'd be amazed.

There seem to have been an update, because the graphics is much nicer now.
