Patch 8.3 PTR - Eye Changes for Death Knights and Elves

Is that not a high elf? Did blood elves get blue eyes when I wasn't looking?

I don't know, the dimmer glow looks weird.

DK blood elf, though I won't be surprised that Blood Elves will get a Blue eyes customization to spite advocates for High Elves.

normal female nelf eyes look still like before I think?

Sounds like a great business decision

if we can have both looks, totally fine. if we get this new ones instead the old ones, then:

WTF ? the new ones look like cheap sheet of a game 20 years ago. how can someone downgrade stuff that massive. its like from tripple A to C quality. looks like shit.

hopefully this will become a choice. otherwise the „new“ one will downgrade the game any further. its like after class pruning we get style pruning.

So you didn't read it. This update looks like garbage because it's a half-finished work in progress, which is what the blue post is saying.

Read the blue post, don't just gloss over the (less than) pretty pictures. This isn't the new look, it's just a preparatory step.

Remember how Blood Elf eyes looked in BC beta up to a certain build? The following screenshot shows the older beta build with them glowing in the dark from within (left) and into what they changed it in latter builds and final release (just a glowing spot in front of the eyes that didn't actually glow in the dark). I was so pissed back then.

I don't understand why they'd use a blood elf dk who doesn't have a dk skintone and isn't wearing dk armor when they've also got a very obvious human dk in the examples given.

sorry, but my level of trust for blizz in such statements is rather low. i way too often heard

- „after beta“
- „in patch .1“
- „work in progress“
- „only prune utility spells or combine utility spells into one, but dont affect core rotation“
- „new models look exactly like old models with higher...“
- „... and later the moonkin form customization“
- „... and later small customizations like quivers, books, etc“
- „we will look into it“
- „we fix the new portals and missing npc options of some classes“
- „aaaand whatever... <insert lame false promise here>“

... bla bla bla. blizz says a lot, whole day long. and then they take the „half finished“ work in progress, put quickly another 10% effort into and call it a day, because more important things crossed their way.

nahhhh, i dont trust them any longer. cost effective development and cheap shit output. naaah.

but we will see...

because they can? it was thrown out there as a PTR model viewer, easier to do regardless of DK skin or not.

EDIT: the glow effects are too strong for a High Elf model to begin with. If Blood Elves got the blue eye option already it would have been posted by now too. So I'm more than certain its a DK Blood Elf

its also labeled as glowBEDK.jpg, kinda obvious at that point.

So you didn't understand the blue post then. This is not the update. This is the preparation for the later update.
What you're doing is like saying "what a shitty omelette" just after breaking the eggs without even putting them in the pan.

The amount of people who just looked at the pictures and posted without reading the blue post is staggering.

I'm just sick of the topic altogether, both sides endlessly bitching and at each others throats cause god forbid one more race doesn't tow party lines that's been asked for since WoW was in the beta.

What's done is done now. Blizzard isn't going to do anything that puts Alliance in an appealing light for players to interact with the faction. might as well accept its WorldofHordecraft and move on.

That said, until I unsub, I'm staying Alliance to the end.

So let's stay on topic of Glowing eyes and the sky is falling cause people can't read, shall we?

I think Blizzard didn't get the memo. Instead of making the Death Knight look more death-like, they thought it was best done by just killing the class's most noticeable feature.

I think people also aren't realize that this isn't an actual change to the eyes... its just the removal of the "head lights" that float in front of the eyes. That's what the eyes currently look like without the "head lights".

They're probably trying to get the glow closer to how it looks like on Valeera. See they aren't floaty orbs.



This is in the shadow, but in direct light the eye glow doesn't look too bad.

Update, I got better pictures of deathknight eye glows compared to the one posted.
