Patch 8.3 PTR - Eye Changes for Death Knights and Elves

People, read: "We expect to update brightly-glowing eyes further in future builds of the Visions of N’Zoth PTR."

They're adding a whole new effect to match recent models, e.g. how Valeera Sanguinar's 8.2.5 model has the eye itself glowing, not a glow effect in front of it, and this effect is not currently on PTR. Likely they're announcing it now because the current PTR has the old effect removed.

Good, the glow was clipping nonstop with your face.

Given that they've removed the glow entirely from elves in other materials like e.g. Hearthstone, this might simply be the new paradigm.

Which I'm okay with. Flashlight-eyes was a little silly.

The bluepost is fairly clear about this being just the first step in the update. Don't forget the first sentence, which explicitly calls this "initial changes".

Red/orange glowing eyes and/or a glyph that changes your ice effects to fire effects for DKs when?

6months later: buy glowing eyes for each of your characters! only 10bucks a pair, available NOW in the in-game shop

This is good thing. Blood elf eyes are terrible right now, very unnatural.

Yeah, because that’s definitely been the trend the past decade *shakes head*

But ..... why?
The old version looks way better imho.
I hope it is only an option, so everybody can choose themselves how bright the eyes glow.

I'm not the biggest blizzard fan, but this has never ever happened in any blizzard game.
Blizzard sells purely cosmetics, and they are always cosmetics you can't get ingame, so writing a post like this
comes off as both silly and tone deaf.

OT: This already looks a lot better than the strange looking glowy 2d orbs, once they get the new glows in place I think it'll look amazing!

Without the glow they look more authentic, more like someone that was dead once, but is now alive again.
Not like some "so powerfull that my eyes glow" class with a strange voice.

This blue post is as usual completely confusing.

So does this mean they are totally removing glowing eyes? which would be a disaster. Or does it mean they are also adding other eyes that are less glowly, which would be cool?

Do people really care about those kind of things? Like clipping cloacks or visible shoes for trolls?

I do, and have wanted the eye glow thing toned down for years. Undead getting covered bones and unbroken armor options is another change that took too long but glad its coming.

It shouldn't be one or the other, there should be an option for both. I hope that is the case.
