Mighty Caravan Brutosaur Moving to BMAH for Shadowlands

Like all dinosaurs, the Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur’s days are numbered. I can confirm that when Shadowlands goes live, the shady vendors Talutu and Tricky Nick will cease selling it. Their other offerings – the Lost Platysaur pet and the Palehide Direhorn mount, will remain available for purchase.

We will make sure that the unforgettable Brutosaur mount is added to the lists of possible items that are sold in the Black Market Auction Houses. And of course, this new Achievement “Conspicuous Consumption” is a Feat of Strength, so as such things go, it’s not actually very conspicuous.

    I understand that they owe us no explanations for why they chose to do what they do but this one truly seems like a move just to rake in Token money.

    I have about 1 million account wide. How the hell am I supposed to make 4 million in the last phase of the expansion. 8.3 does not promise any new gold lucrative activities.

    Blizzard deserve all shitshow they get for this one. They're taking away major goal from people that collected gold over last year to get it eventually, just to get quick $$$ from whales.

    The removal of the brutosaur is an absolutely scummy move. Preying on FOMO to get people to buy tokens is really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

    The mount was already exclusive by virtue of its price, and now they pull this? And so blatantly?

    And for what it's worth, I have the brutosaur and I still think it's exploitative and predatory.

    Do all raids from cata to wod, on all difficulties. Do WQs that are quick and offer gold. Use professions. Play the game. Shadowlands will be out on or before December 31, that is over a year.

    Hopefully you're not one of those that complain about not making gold while only playing an hour every week.

    This out of nowhere decision to remove a gold sink mount for the first time in the game's history is absolutely disgusting. The whole point is to get people to buy tokens and fork over their Garrison and raid carry gold, and it's so blatant and slimy that it leaves no shred of doubt that whoever came up with the idea has no respect for players or the game and is nothing more than a parasite sucking on whatever love is left for this game in the community in order to make some more $$$, and if there was any justice in the industry they would be sacked immediately.

    And on top of it being absurd to begin with, we didn't even get proper warning from the beginning of the expansion. Had I known from the start, I wouldn't have bought the white direhorn and the frogs before the brutosaur, but I did that because nowhere in my wildest dreams did I imagine such a thing would be possible! Ugh.

    I wonder if they at least plan to add a recolor (I've been suggesting a white brutosaur for one of the mount collecting meta since BFA beta, and the mammoth - and yak to some degree - even have versions available that are the exact same color but without vendors). I don't care about the auction house NPC nearly as much as I care about a cool looking mount model that also happens to be iconic for two of the Horde races.

    it's likely something to do with the 'sanity' mechanic they are rehashing, as you fly in the world you will pass through pockets of mist that drain your mounts stamina, using this consumable will lessen/remove those effects, something along those lines.

    People complaining about having to buy tokens and here I sit happily waiting for when it gets posted on the BMAH so I can get it for cheaper than vendor price.
    Also not sure why people feel such a need to have this mount. It has an AH attachment, but other than that you can get a Traveler’s Mammoth for like 10k or a Grand Yak for 500k that has repair and vendor.
    That said, I’m not defending Blizzard as I don’t really care about their choice, just pointing out the obvious and wondering why everyone immediately jumps on the “big bad Blizz must sell tokens and be bad guys. Rawr!”

    Really scratching me head about the AH mount being retired to the black market, it was always meant to be a gold sink even more of one when you consider that all the easy gold farming of WoD and Legion have been absent for the entire expansion, yet they're still getting rid of it. I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist but I'm struggling to find an answer that doesn't involve blizzard being given more money by desperate players who don't want to duke it out with madam goya's price gouging later in shadowlands.

    That’s your opinion. This plays out 3 ways: 1) people have the gold and want mountains but it now before it disappears. (2) people don’t have gold and wait for AH, meaning they have saved up and probably won’t have more than the original 5 million anyways. Or (3) no, that’s pretty much it.

    Yeah this one smells far away of Activision wanting to make money on the tokens. Even more so when it's only the mount (aka the most lucrative one) and none of the other stuff that is sold by the vendor this happens to.

    At the current token prices it will cost a player 420 euro of tokens to get 5M (in my case it would be 380 as I'm a poor hunter). And as soon the supply of tokens rises (because of those people that now begins to buy tokens for the mount) means the prices on the tokens will drop. So depending on how bad people want the mount this could kill the current price on tokens.
