World of Warcraft Classic Version 1.13.3

Battlegrounds
The fields of battle are open, and the Alliance and Horde are set to clash over Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley.

Warsong Gulch is a 10v10 game of capture-the-flag, with each faction attempting to carry their opponents’ flag all the way back to their own base, while preventing the opposition from doing the same. Players fight in level-ranges in Warsong Gulch: 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and level 60.

Alterac Valley is a large 40v40 tug-of-war zone, with many quests, objectives, and areas of interest. All players at level 51 and higher are placed into a single level-range in this epic struggle, with rewards via reputation as well as quest rewards. Some Alterac Valley rewards are highly sought, such as Don Julio’s Band, Lei of the Lifegiver, and Ice Threaded Arrows/Bullets.

The Alliance entrance to Warsong Gulch is in Silverwing Grove in Ashenvale Forest, and the Horde entrance is near Mor’shan Base Camp in the northern Barrens. The Alliance and Horde entrances to Alterac Valley are in northern Hillsbrad Foothills. Both Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley can also be entered by speaking with the appropriate battlemaster in your capital city.

Battlegrounds are cross-realm, which means you’ll fight alongside allies and against opponents from all of the realms in your region.

Elemental Invasions
Across Kalimdor, Blazing, Thundering, Watery, and Whirling Invaders now occasionally appear in Un’goro Crater, Azshara, Winterspring, and Silithus respectively. The elementals appear to be seeing just how far into these territories they can penetrate before being beaten back by the forces of the Horde or the Alliance.

Keyring
The key button in your micro menu now opens your Keyring, an additional bag for keys only, that scales up to hold 32 keys.

Additional Updates
  • The lua API has been modified to prevent some addons from using communications channels in ways that are contrary to the spirit of the game.
  • This patch includes client support for the Paid Character Transfer service, which may be enabled at a future date.
  • The World of Warcraft Classic executable file on your PC has been renamed.
  • Bug fixes.

Classic Patch 1.13.3 LUA API Change

With the release of World of Warcraft Classic 1.13.3, we’re making a change to disallow calling C_ChatInfo.SendAddonMessage with the CHANNEL ChatType. This will prevent addons from communicating over custom, player-created chat channels.

Addons will still be able to communicate using PARTY, RAID, GUILD, and WHISPER in the same ways that they can now. Additionally, we are going to test a change to permit C_ChatInfo.SendAddonMessage to be called with SAY and YELL, allowing your addons to communicate with players in your immediate vicinity.

We support using addons to customize your gameplay experience. However, we also want to ensure that we preserve the social dynamics that make Classic what it is. Ultimately, we decided that the ability for addons to send invisible messages to large, arbitrary groups of players all across Azeroth was something that risked undermining those social dynamics.

Thank you!

I hope they'll port those Lua changes to retail as well.

Well this just pushes people to use discord instead, not sure what the intent is here.

Please stay at classic, but don't ruin retail for us who are still playing. These LUA-Changes are absolutely ok for classic, but for retail MANY addons requires them to communicate with each other. Half of them, many useful tools for raid-logging to RP-Addons to other things requires them. I know your world might shatter, but there are people who like addons and wants these tools. If you don't, then don't simply use them. But don't try to shove it us down our throat because you want to feel good because: "I'm so much better because i don't use addons!"

Doesn't sound like a joke. This is literally what happened back in Vanilla. Don't go imposing changes on that #nochanges crowd.

Also, on a separate note, 8.3 doesn't launch before new year. "We want people to spend time with their families."

... launches Battlegrounds on Classic right before Christmas. I don't really care what Blizzard decides to do with what, but I just think it's a funny decision to make.

I hope this will not break LFG addon because we used that in vanilla too:

Sweet! Classic will give me a chance to finally do Naxx the proper way. When i did naxx back then.. the time ran out, TBC came out.. and everyone forgot about Vanilla WoW naxx.

I cant wait to get to that patch

Let me guess, the changes broke the crossguild addon that was in development.

That's because classic is in freefall. They made a mistake in enabling honor without the BGs and people are leaving in droves because of it. I don't know what blizzard expected tbh and even though they have rushed BGs into the game, the time it took shows they were unprepared. What I find funny is all of the effort people are doing farming honor where everyone thinks they have a shot at rank 14.

As opposed to what? In game chat? Read more closely. This only affects add-ons talking to each other by custom channels.

Doest rank 14 require you to be the best that week for your class or something? I mean its pretty hard if I remember correctly.

Maybe time to play classic again.. atleast something semi-fun to do with battlegrounds.

Saw a bunch of crybabies bitching about PCT in classic. "OMG blizz so greedy!!! "
Shows they dont remember what vanilla was (or never actually played it) since PCT was around in vanilla too.

    Ridicolous player base...

You need an insane amount of rating points, and you need to be in the top 0.1%. Which means that if too many are trying, you might need a lot more points as well, which is why in vanilla the top PvPers actually organized to get this going. Without organization, its not only an insane grind, but players are also actively limiting each other.

There is also a 20% decay between weeks, which means if you are not serious about it every single day, you will not manage.

Vanilla also had a period like that, of course, and their content plan was setup to re-capture all those phases. And at the time people applauded them for it. Of course now that they actually play it, many actually experience how terrible it was, but thats just how it goes, I guess.
