More Flexibility with Essences
Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
We’ve just made a significant update to the new Echoes of Ny’alotha system, with the goal of making Essences much more available to your characters whose specializations put them in different roles (tanking, healing, damage).

With this change, we’ve lifted the restrictions on acquiring role-specific Azerite Essences from MOTHER. Now, the various ways that you obtain Rank 3 tanking, healing, or damage-specific Essences are now grouped together. If you’ve earned any of the three Essences in these groups, all three of the Essences will be unlocked for purchase from MOTHER with Echoes of Ny’alotha:

  • Spark of Inspiration, Unwavering Ward, Strength of the Warden (obtained from Horrific Visions)
  • Touch of the Everlasting, Spirit of Preservation, Breath of the Dying (obtained from reputation with Rajani)
  • Blood of the Enemy, Artifice of Time, Sphere of Suppression (obtained from Battlegrounds)
  • Condensed Life Force, Vitality Conduit, Azeroth’s Undying Gift (obtained from raiding in The Eternal Palace)
  • Essence of the Focusing Iris, Life-Binder’s Invocation, Anima of Life and Death (obtained from Mythic Keystone dungeons)

As a reminder, this was already the case with Purification Protocol, Nullifcation Dynamo, and Well of Existence (the Rustbolt Resistance Essences) as well as The Ever-Rising Tide, Aegis of the Deep, and The Unbound Force (the Nazjatar Essences).

A side-effect of this change is that even a single character now has a way to obtain these off-role Essences, and can either use Echoes to purchase them from MOTHER or use the original means of acquisition. That means that your Priest who raided Azshara in Shadow-spec and got Condensed Life-Force up to Rank 3 is now able to obtain Vitality Conduit from MOTHER for a Holy-spec healing boost.

Thank you for all of your feedback on this!

To these people? I guess so since all they ever do is pretend WoW's got no subs, even when incomes are at a record from the title and there are no major drops in MAU's.

But alas, dumb people gon' dumb.

Blizzard simply doesn't do these things otherwise, so the stated reason being Covid-19 sounds far more plausible than what some random nobodies with an agenda has to say on the matter. Especially the individuals suffering hard from ex-partner syndrome.

Edit: Checked realmlists, all the High/Full pop are the same, some Mediums have gone into High pop and the High/Full/Medium still outnumber the low ones by far. The Spanish servers though... All are high/Full apart from 3, which is a change from last time I looked. Must be as a result of Corona.

    Are you sure about that? Did you not say;

"I mean you'd have to be completely inept to not see this" when replying to someone claiming all this is to due a drop in subs? Or would you like to finally confirm what we all know and admit you're a liar

Ah I thought as much, that explains the increase in the sub count I have here. I'd tell you all what the sub count is but it's a secret and Ion made me promise to keep it to myself - game is dead though trust me

Bold: definitely not hard to see XD

    OH!

You're one of the people that act like the game is still popular/alive/subs haven't dropped. Nevermind.

There might not be any official numbers, but it doesn't take much to put two and two together.

The first leak was from a Bnet leak, saying 2.7M subs, the second was via an addon that said 1.7M.

Please show me then some numbers that arent pulled out of your ass or from some extremly untrustworthy website.

Good good, best not to crack the illusional bubble of previously mentioned posters, we wouldn't want to add insult to injury when they're already struggling so hard from the game still being around.

Edit: I was told via PM (since my uBlock filters ignored posters) that a certain poster in the thread has desperately copied my sig, using one of the least popular leveling zones as his "proof". Considering the crow said poster ate not long ago, that's beyond hilarious.

In short, anyone claiming to have numbers, is lying.

Their bias might not allow them to realize this, but it's a fact. Whether they be citing addons (relying on players having said addon) or "armory numbers", something which the original author admitted was flawed and by no means reliable. Hell, my armory still doesn't list 10 of my active characters and has my main listed as a Blood elf 2 race changes later.

You really gotta wonder about all these "fan-favorite" changes being machine gunned out lately. What's happening behind the scenes? BfA not doing too hot? Shadowlands pre-orders low?

I'm glad you can admit you're wrong. Thanks for playing

Or they're simply listening to players

The addon also said that 50% of all players were using weakauras, which seems not likely whatsoever.

Granted, the subs are down from Legion, no doubt, and quite much(39% drop in guilds clearing heroic EP, 17125 compared to ToS, 27971 according to raider.io) but when someone claim, then refuted those claims after, that 50% of all players use weak-auras then something isn't quite right.

    TLDR: Weak(pun) sources.

Well let's see yours. Oh wait, you don't have any either?

So both of us are "wrong", correct? Are you mentally inebriated to think that you've "won" lmfao.

B: The very little remaining, sure.

I'm not stating that's definitely the case am I? Am suggesting why we seem to be getting all the things we're asking for - shockingly there are reasons beyond "game is dying lul"

I don't recall people asking for huge EXP boosts. Why didn't they do it during WotLK when 12M people were playing? Surely people asked for it then.
Hold onto they've got left? Sounds more realistic to me.

It's almost like there's a global pandemic going on that's unprecedented in its scale and disruption, causing millions of people to have to stay home. Blizzard aren't the only entertainment company to try and entice people to consume their product this week you know

I genuinely can't tell if you're just a really good troll or actually dense

Okay so why didn't they do this when the game was 11x more popular back in WotLK though, like I'm not understanding.

    Because Covid-19 wasn't happening in 2009?

Oh yes, let's compare 20% increased EXP to upwards of 70% in retail.

This actually just got me - notice when the game continued to die, they added more and more ways of getting increased EXP. At first it started in WotLK, in the form of 20% EXP. Was greatly expanded in Cata, and again in MoP. Same with WoD and Legion. Now there's just a fucking 100% bonus on top. lmao
