Torghast is open for testing this week. Blizzard posted an official Torghast preview and we've already posted a list of various Torghast abilities.

    That UI is too simple imo. Also those sliders are really cheap looking. I preferred the version we had with pictures showing each color, made it easier to compare.

    The new UI looks like something you find in a mobile game. Very cheap looking.

    The new UI looks very much like the Allied Race section of the BFA website.
    And the whole minimal thing doesn't quite go well with the busy city background. Like, if you go minimal, make the icons a tad bigger, and get a red background for the Hord and a blue one for the Alliance.
    Other than that... I guess we'll have to wait and see if there's gonna be any class/race description or if it's all gonna be a guessing game for new players.

    blizzard has always used their art styles in their games, even for menus. this doesn't look like blizzard style. it clashes and looks generic.

    they should embrace their own art style because it's cool and it separates them from the rest of the forgettable stuff out there who use minimalistic 'style'. the menus and vehicle buttons and extra action buttons in game make good use of blizzard iconic art style, with in-game elements such as wood, rope, plating, parchment, spikes, stone, etc. same with spellbook, bank, and so on, even in game shop is more in keeping with blizzard and Warcraft art style.

    when you click on an old, rustic mailbox to send a friend a letter, it will suck when you get a shiny black screen with glassy star trek buttons and a neon frame. Character selection screen should be immersive and exciting to get you to make your character and get them in the game exploring, it should be a preview what what is to come! the landscapes in the background hint at your adventure, but this 'elegant' microwave control panel is an eyesore and not helping the game, therefor it is hurting the game.

    set yourself apart, blizzard, be brave and bold in your own art and style. it would be bad if they too started using this simplistic play station looking style instead of their homegrown art style. the auction house already suffers from lack of imagination and immersion and believably within a fantasy realm. sad

    New Character Creation Screen is one of those things that resources could have been better sent on something else. Like when they change icons or default colors of a GUI or menu. Almost a "look we were working on something" even if its a total waste of time and resources. They did this with some software at the last place I worked for a ticket management system. They took all the colors out of the icons and changed them. Took a couple of months to figure everything else and productivity went down.

    Waste of resources. I guess they needed something for the interns or entry-level designers to work on.

    And the new character creation is fine, I like it. I tend to spend less than 3 minutes in character creation these days anyways when making a new char thanks to the in-game barber offering face and skin color changes.

    That new character creation setup has to at least partially placeholder. A slider for skin tones makes a lot of sense, but a slider for hair styles does not. The preview boxes were already functionally solid for seeing and comparing different aesthetics, and at worst I just wish we could see more of those preview boxes at a time.

    Assuming that many things with character creation are still going to change, the only thing I think worth criticizing is how overly harsh the vignette is. A slight darkening to pop the race and class icons is fine, but the whole creation looks dark at the current setting. Dial it back by at least half of whatever percentage that layer is at now, or get rid of it; I don't think the icons are too hard to distinguish without it.

    I don't like that it has the same background for every race except pandas. Hopefully that'll change, I like seeing race specific backgrounds to get an idea of their culture/style.

    Not gonna lie the new character creation is disappointing. I don't 'hate' it but I enjoy the current one. Brings me nostalgia still from when I first booted up this game so many years ago
