Shadowlands Alpha Build 34081 - Eye of the Jailer
From the Shadowlands Developer Interview with Paul Kubit we learn that The Maw is one of the endgame zones for Shadowlands.

While you are in The Maw, the Eye of the Jailer is upon you. You'll have a limited amount of time to do stuff every day before the Jailer notices you and makes the experience more difficult.

The squish is for number simplification. All it does is make the numbers easier to parse. It has nothing to do with instances. Nothing in the game is changing except the number value.

If you throw a tantrum and can't handle the numbers changing while having the same inherent value relative to everything else then, yes, please go.

Why would they have to learn? 15 ilvl jumps are fine between difficulties. Less than that, the difference feel narrow.

Would you like Shadowlands start with people having 1M HP ? and doing 500k dps ?
I mean its just numbers but doing 500k dps on the start of a new expansion and then doing 5M DPS on the last patch is just stupid.

I'm surprised we don't have a druid and Night Fae making them something like Elune incarnate and they can duel wield war graves or swords.

Yeah, I'd like. By the way, during the Blizzcon they said the following:

"There will not be a stat squish. It's very important that players feel just as powerful when they log in to play the expansion."

I think this squish is stupid now.

do you think you get weaker with stat squish?

I don't understand the squish either. I get why, I just don't get why they haven't come up with a better solution for the issue instead of having to waste entire expansions fixing the problem. In the expansion we're playing now a players Ilvl doubles from fresh 50 to mythic after the squish. The terrible jump in gear level is already starting and they haven't even put this live. This need to stick to a 15 ilvl jump between tiers AND difficulties just seems to be shooting themselves in the foot. 45 ilvls per raid tier is ridiculous just to make sure each tier "feels" like an upgrade from the last.

Yeah, from normal dungeon to end tier raid the ilvl nearly doubles. Vanilla/Classic level 60 dungeons start with itemlevel in the low 60s and gear that can be equipped with lvl 58s. Kel'thuzad and T3 chest and ring are ilevel 93. In BC I could level to 70 with barely any gear change and even wore some lvl60 pieces in Karazhan.
WoW is already an ARPG with all it's normal, heroic, Mythic, plus LFR and the possible gear grind that comes with it, if you don't skip difficulties. This system is so bloated. While before 1 difficulty was good enough, now people really need up to 4 and of cause want big gaps in gear power?

The squish is useless, if you start inflating stats and ilevels so quickly again.

You do realise the same could be said to the other side of the argument, yes?

Ultimately, it's a change for the sake of change, with little practical value.

Practical value is all there is to it. That comes from not having to deal with tens of millions spread over your screen, meters, logs or anywhere. If you call that not practical value then what is it and what would practical value be?

If killing a mob takes 10 seconds, but in one case you see four digit numbers flying across screen, whereas in the other you see eight digit numbers, is it not more practical to deal with the smaller number for all purposes?

People gauging whether they do good based on the size of the numbers, instead of the speed of defeating an encounter, their contribution for it and relative efficiency, really do belong on Classic. Which, BTW, deals with very small numbers.
