Torghast, Tower of the Damned Changes

With this week’s update to the Shadowlands Alpha, testers will encounter a number of changes to Torghast:
  • Mounting has been disabled everywhere in Torghast.
    • Developers’ notes: This was a bug. We apologize for any misunderstanding it introduced. Our goal is for Maw Powers that grant movement abilities to be powerful, valuable choices. We feel that this is the way to continue building interest in moving around the space efficiently.
  • Priest Anima Powers which previously only affected Flash Heal now also affect Shadowmend. Several other existing Priest Anima Powers have also been adjusted.
  • The Tarragrue is tired of being bullied and has bolstered his defenses.
    • Developers’ note: Please continue trying to bully the Tarragrue.
  • Torghast escort NPC’s can now be stunned temporarily if they take too much damage.
  • Urns are now named Ashen Phylacteries.
  • Many bug fixes.
  • Many more bug fixes.

Death Knight

Abomination Limb (Necrolord) - Sprout an additional limb for 12 sec. Every 2 sec, it deals [ 45% of Attack Power ] Shadow damage to all nearby enemies and pulls an enemy to your location if they are further than 8 yds from you.


Demon Hunter

Fodder to the Flame (Necrolord) - Commission a duel to the death against a Condemned Demon from the Theater of Pain. Defeating the demon and consuming its Empowered Soul Fragment reduces the cooldown of Metamorphosis by 60 sec. Fleshcraft treats the Condemned Demon as a powerful enemy.

The Hunt (Night Fae) - Charge to an enemy, inflicting [ 250% of Attack Power ] Nature damage and rooting them in place for 3 sec. The target is marked for 60 sec, inc increasing your Fury from Demon's Bites/Shears against them by 50%. You may reactivate The Hunt every 30 sec to teleport behind the marked target, ignoring line of sight.


Hunter

Wild Spirits (Night Fae) - Summon a Wild Spirit at the target location that applies Wild Mark to all enemy targets below it for 15 sec. While the Wild Spirit is active, each ability you use against a target affected by the Wild Mark calls forth a spirit beast to strike your target for [ 45% of Attack Power ] Arcane damage.


Shaman

Fae Transfusion (Night Fae) - Transfer the life force of up to 8 enemies in the targeted area, dealing [ 25% of Spell Power + 25% of Attack Power ] Nature damage every 0.5 sec for 3 sec. Pressing Fae Transfusion again within 20 sec will release 75% of all damage from Fae Transfusion, healing up to 8 allies near yourself.


Warlock

Impending Catastrophe (Venthyr) - Call forth a cloud of chaotic of anima that travels to the target enemy, dealing [ 100% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage to enemies in its path. When the anima reaches the target it explodes, inflicting either Curse of Weakness or Curse of Tongues, and dealing [ 261% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage over 12 sec to all nearby enemies.

    Maybe this is part of the new optional ingredients and the datamining doesn't show it properly? On the other hand, the BfA recipies were like this shit as well, so it's probably just how it is.

    I was thinking some of it is like the Fookasa and Choral Honey in BfA, which to me is just a gold sink. It just adds tedium and cost to a profession that needs neither.

    Man, Draka was such a garbage choice to have as the Maldraxxus "rep". She has fuck-all to do with anything or anyone.

    Truth be told, I think all Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse should be present, one inducted into each of the new Covenants. But barring that, surely Alexandros Mograine would've made a FAR more fitting character. Or hell, either Grom or Garrosh Hellscream.

    As much as the gpy change is probably healthy for the game, mages are really not having a good time so far; especially the shimmer nerf.

    Shimmer Nerf, temp Shield Nerf, Invis Nerf, and losing blaster master and Lucid Dreams, gonna be trash until 1-2 patches into shadowlands because they have to keep buffing fire.

    Haha melee mobility nerfs, DHs probably will get another fel rush and every melee will get a 4s freedom.

    So Uther becomes a Kyrian and is a focus for Bastion because of his whole honour and the light thing and Kael becomes sort of a mix between a Vampire and High Elf and his focus for Revendreth is his redemption but AU Draka is just an Orc with Green Eyes? Not even like an Orc Death Knight, just a regular one with green eyes. Yeesh, why are they focusing on her for Madraxxus again?

    I liked the map that had The Maw as a swirling vortex of yikes.

    But seeing it as such a dinky little zone really minimizes the threat of it imo.

    Pretty much. Many of the ingredients sound rather generic, not something you'd actually collect in the world. It will be same as BfA is my guess.

    I never thought of her as the hardcore cruel military guy that deserves Maldraxxus either, if she get's send therer then pretty much every orc that died ever should be there or in the maw.

    This isn't AU Draka, it's Prime Draka. And the Placeholder text made a joke about Orcs not being allowed in Bastion, so I think it's that The Orc ideals of trial by combat aligns better with Maldraxxus.

    Yeah, what makes it an even stranger choice is that Maldraxxus is also apparently a realm that works on the concept of the Survival of the Fittest but Draka was a sickly Orc in her youth and died after being ambushed by her own people. It's just bizarre.

    Is it? I just thought it might be AU Draka as she's listed as 'Warlord Draka' in Shadowlands but she was never a Warlord in MU and the closest she got in AU was becoming the head of a Mag'har Garrison before likely being killed by the Lightbound. Not to mention they might be looking to expand on Geya'rah's story rather than Thrall. Arguably if it is the AU version she might fit a bit better than the MU one if we go by the Trial by Combat thing but still she seems to be a really weird choice.
