Shadowlands Alpha - Chromie Timewalking
Chromie Timewalking has been added in the game in Shadowlands Alpha Build 34490. You can find Chromie sitting on her hourglass near Orgrimmar and Stormwind Embassy.


Characters Level 10 can speak with Chromie to choose a different timeline to level in: Kalimdor & Eastern Kingdoms, Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, Draenor or Broken Isles.

Note that this option will be available only to veteran players, new players to World of Warcraft will have to level in Battle for Azeroth by turning in the quest Hour of Reckoning/Hour of Reckoning.

Kalimdor & Eastern Kingdoms

Outland
The Dark Portal has once again opened, and the demons of the Burning Legion are advancing on Azeroth! Make sure their plans have a rather... Azerothian-sized setback!
Chromie says: You look quite prepared!

Northrend
The tragic fall of Arthas Menethil and his ascension to the frozen throne as the Lich King is a moment in history that has permanently left a lingering scar across all of Azeroth. Stopping the Lich King would really put the Scourge's plan on ice.
Chromie says: Do not exercise restraint when showing your great power to the Scourge!

Pandaria
An ancient and mysterious land shrouded in fog for over ten thousand years appeared due to the events of the Cataclysm, and its people could really use the help of an adventurer like you. Going back to Pandaria is a great way to see that life is worth savoring!
Chromie says: Whatever you do, do not get between a Pandaren and their brew. It'll be unbearably painful if you do!

Draenor
The orcish clans had a very unfortunate fate in our timeline, but the meddling of Garrosh Hellscream brought forth a force that threatened the very existence of all life on Azeroth--the Iron Horde. Travel back through time and meet the orcish clans and the draenei for the first time... again!
Chromie says: If a scary orc offers you something to drink, you probably want to say no.

Broken Isles
The Burning Legion sought to conquer Azeroth and enslave its world soul, and now that the Tomb of Sargeras has been reopened, they advance on our world. History will remember that you stood between the Legion and annihilation!
Chromie says: If you find a powerful weapon, just make sure it isn't corrupted by the Burning Legion or Old Gods, okay?

Shadowlands Alpha - 10-50 Leveling Speed Record
DesMephisto has managed to level a character from 10 to 50 in less than 4 hours, breaking his previous record of 5 hours and 37 minutes. Even though this is an amazing accomplishment, please note that Blizzard has said that the current leveling speed hasn't been tuned on Alpha.

    Maybe I missed it, but what exactly makes a player a "veteran player" to be able to choose what xpac they level in? Just by having a 120 character?

    If you've levelled from 1 up to 50 via BfA (after shadowlands) or if you already have a level 50 (aka 120) character before shadowlands - then Chromie will via available for your alts from then on.

    If you turn up and you are a brand new player - then you will level from 1 to 50 via BfA.

    If i missed most of Legion and whole BFA and now want to check Torghast (i am huuuuge Binding of Isaac fan and dungeon crawlers in general) i have to level through it anyway?

    But I guess you can always buy a boost if leveling takes too long *wink* *wink*

    They have already commented on an expected leveling time long before alpha launched (60% faster then it is now or something to that effect), and it'll most likely be tuned to that level.

    I don't think they will increase it much since he was fully decked out in heirlooms and using every xp boosting mechanic he had available.

    Today we have a 100% Experience buff. Does that mean faster with the buff or without the buff. I have never seen an answer to this anywhere.

    BFA leveling is great. If you actually read the storylines.
    Yes, don’t know ally side but horde side Zandalar and voldun are really nice place to level in if you follow the storyline.

    It might? A new player with no experience bonuses is intended to level through BFA zones until 50, so at worst you'd have to be able to reach 50 within those 3 zones. That's pretty fast if you ask me, considering the only thing left after is Shadowlands itself. Imagine if today you could level 20-120 in BFA alone. That's pretty much what the leveling will have to be like.

    If a new player is intended to do 10-50 with BFA alone, then you absolutely cannot require more experience than BFA zones can grant. Add heirlooms and whatever other bonuses you have access to, plus the option of choosing where you want to go if you're a veteran player... we're looking at a really fast leveling process.

    Some of his heirlooms were missing the experience bonuses too, so I'd wager he could have shaved it down to an even 3 hours if he had the full benefit of all of his heirlooms.

    Blizz is for sure going to tune up the time to level. I'm sure they want it fast, but not THAT fast.

    It should be faster for every max level character you have to a cap imo, like 5% per so people who have done the pain in the ass work get a bonus to leveling future characters.
