In before people cry about Blizzard either A. Virtue signalling B. How they handled the Hong Kong incident or C. Think this is an excuse because what they wanted to show isn't ready.

Whatever their "true" reasoning, this is a good move and a net positive for everyone

I'm fine with SL delayed, as long as we're getting polished product.

This is somehow both unsurprising and disappointing.

I was really looking forward to the distraction from...everything...but we'll just have to wait a bit longer I suppose.

It's not a good move because it has absolutely nothing to do with current protests. If they are able to do their normal work, they are also able to stream. Even though the situation in US is very serious, the world didn't stop. Black people certainly have no expectations nor do they care about some video game company to postpone some reveal.

I don't know what's with the PR in these times, but it's pretty cringe. Companies doing some weird shit as a proof of "unity" and "we care, we're in this together". I'm fine with them doing something meaningful, but this is not it.

Still, it's not even close to the cringe incarnate that was shutting down GTA5 servers for two hours to honor Floyd, lmao.

    Honest question, how?

If they want to do something meaningful they should donate to organizations working for racial justice, promote black content creators on their stream, make a statement at the beginning of the stream in support of BLM, etc etc etc

There are so many options that could actually make a better impact.

It's obviously virtue signaling with the BLM stuff going on, which is what makes it disappointing. that's clear due to the "more important voices than ours" speak. Shame on Blizzard for doing this.

Is this about this George Floyd guy?

The guy was a pornstar on drugs, the cop did not do any damage to his spine or suffocate him, he had high blood pressure and heart problems and that led to his death. The cop had no way of knowing this. Every time this happens to white people it is just being ignored by the leftist media, and when it happens to a black guy, black people use the opportunity to chimp out and rob stores, and then wonder why people hate them.
Quality edit. I'm sorry about your brainworms.

Agreed. Making people slightly uncomfortable by having to think about why it's delayed for a second is the bare minimum.

Why shame? Like even if you believe its virtue signaling, isnt this all just at worst, neutral? What would be disappointing about it?

lol wtf? Why do people think that this situation is going to actually be resolved. If you want police reform in a democratic controlled city then go ask your mayor or governor. If NY has a police brutality issue against blacks, well guess whos in charge. Democrats.

Everyone talks talks talks. But no one does anything. Why? Because they can use it as ammunition to get re elected. Because ppl are to stupid and ignorant to know how shit really works.

Really weird decision from a video game company to delay information because of some protests that will die down in a few weeks, like every other outrage or scandal.

    100% support this.

To everyone else, don't worry, you'll get your announcement A BIT LATER THAN EXPECTED but you all probably shouldn't be in favor of police brutality. Like JFC...

So weird that almost every large video game company in the US is doing the same.

Yeah seems very weird to me.

Especially considering Blizzard caters to an international audience. Most of their playerbase is outside of the US and we don't care about your silly protests.

    but muh blood pressure

On-topic: It's not the end of the world. The livestream is just an attempt to build hype, they can do that whenever, so if they feel like it'd be insensitive to do so now, no skin off my ass.
