Upgrading From Base Edition, Heroic Edition, or Epic Edition to Collector’s Edition
If you’ve purchased a digital copy of Shadowlands from our in-game shop or Blizzard shop, and want to upgrade to the Collector’s Edition, we will automatically credit you the cost of the digital copy in Blizzard Balance—as long as you enter the Collector’s Edition key before 11:59 p.m. PDT on March 31, 2021. When you enter the key from your Collector’s Edition, the credit will automatically kick in based on the original transaction on your account.

Remember, you will need to enter the Collector’s Edition key before 11:59 p.m. PDT on March 31, 2021, as automatic Blizzard Balance credits will be turned off at that time.

Please note, if you originally bought a lower-priced edition then upgraded to a higher-priced edition, you will be credited based on the original purchase only. Here are the specific scenarios:

Epic Edition > Collector’s Edition
If you originally bought the Epic Edition of Shadowlands and pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition, your Blizzard Balance credit will be for the price you paid for the Epic Edition.

Heroic Edition > Epic Edition > Collector’s Edition
If you bought the Heroic Edition, upgraded to the Epic Edition at a later date, then pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition of Shadowlands, your Blizzard Balance credit will be the price you paid for the original Heroic Edition.

Heroic Edition > Collector’s Edition
If you originally bought the Heroic Edition of Shadowlands and pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition, your Blizzard Balance credit will be the price you paid for the Heroic Edition.

Base Edition > Heroic Edition > Collector’s Edition

$120?!?!? For the exact same type of crap that's been in all the previous expansions?!?! Or are you going to tell me that those 4 pins are $40~$60 each?

They've been $99 for awhile now, since they started including level boosts. This one at least comes with more in game rewards than usual and the packaging is a big step up. I think that about covers the price difference.

Well, the BFA CE price hike and lack of artbook signalled the end of me buying CEs, and this $120 price point clinches it, artbook be damned.

Used to be $40 for the base game and $70 for the CE, and now we're at $40 for the base game and $120 for the CE... Just ridiculous.

Hahaha fucking four versions of the same game. Blizzard kills me with this shit. Once upon a time Blizzard gave us two options. Game and collector version. It was nice and simple and well priced.

$120 my ass. Especially when you can end up buying them brand new months later for half the cost since were long past the days of vanilla, tbc, and wrath where collector editions are hard to come by.

WoD and Legion were $90, before that they were $70-80. And through Legion they included a physical soundtrack and BTS disc.

The BFA price hike to $100 dropped the physical discs, swapped the artbook for an illustrated story, and charged even more for the big coin thing.

Now we're jumping up to $120 for foil packaging? Yeah, they brought back the artbook, but I'm not looking to spend an extra $30-50 for a coin or some pins. The box is the display item, like it was for all the expansions before BFA.

If they are only releasing the CE on their website instead of having it available at all retailers, you're not going to be seeing a reduction in price.

BC was $60, LK and Cata were $70, MoP And WoD were $80, Legion was $90, BfA was $100.

    They've pretty consistently gone up.

Probably a waste of my time in this thread but here goes:

    Base Expansion $40
    includes all zones and content

    Heroic Upgrade +$20
adds mount and transmog and a max level boost

    Epic Upgrade +$20
adds pet, toy, enchant, and gametime

    CE +$40
adds Art book, Music disc, pins, mousepad, and shiny box.

    My breakdown:
$40 seems pretty fair for a once every 2 year cost.
Heroic seems like a standard shop mount for $20 with free boost added
Epic adds a $5 store pet plus $15 gametime with some free toys added
Art book would retail for $20
Music disc would retail for $10
    Mouse pad for $5
    Pins for $5
    Shiniest box evar - FREE

$120 is a lot, but I don't think they are actually gouging on anything.

I think Blizzard should be highly praised for adding such flexible options and that doesn't even include the ability to pre-purchase the game now and get a full credit to Blizzard balance on release.
