PvP Medallion Trinkets in Shadowlands

These trinkets were considered uniquely powerful PvP rewards, and they were considered mandatory in high level competitive content.

In Legion, the PvP template system deactivated all effects from gear. This meant that functionality like this had to be included in the honor talent system, along with alternatives.

For Shadowlands, we plan to restore this CC break functionality to a trinket, and make it a powerful PvP trinket option that comes exclusively from PvP. Players will be able to purchase this trinket for Honor or Conquest from one of the new PvP vendors returning in Shadowlands.

Yeah sure, all the glads saying they want PVP gear are not true PVP players.

The top two rated players in the world right now literally have 4 PvP pieces each - the rest is PvE. Maybe chill out with the ridiculous "PvP players just want superior gear" when it's currently skewed (heavily) in the other direction.

Guessing you don't have much experience with PvP? It's not at all 100% mandatory, many specs in the past have gotten away with not using it. It's the default absolutely, but it's never been a barrier at all to get - you'd do maybe one BG to be able to afford the basic one.
i've gotten glad back in cata, i think i have plenty experience.
it is 100% mandatory, unless you're playing something really cheesy.

I liked the change, but i know that this is better for pvp

this is first time EVER i heard that u didn't need the pvp trinket for non human players in older times
in bg maybe because bg is pure chaos and there is 1502 cc that will chain on u, but in arena? arena without pvp trinket can be reported as trolling or intentional feeding

Doubt, considering it rarely was for every spec.

Regardless, even if it does end up mandatory that isn't a bad thing.

that's what i'm saying, it is mandatory. unless you meant that as a reply to the other guy.

i can link my armory if you're so inclined.

but being serious now, of course there are downsides to putting it to the pvp talents system. yeah it is annoying having to farm an additional trinket (which, let's be real, is probably going to be a PvE one because blizzard has a massive bias against PvP, they don't see any issues in PvE gear being best for PvP, but GOD FORBID if any PvP item is best for PvE).
the thing is that, even with this in mind, the downsides of having the medallion back outweight the downsides of leaving it how it is now. if you want to do both PvP and PvE, you'll still be forced to get that 2nd trinket because the medallion sucks for anything that isn't competitive PvP.

the worst part of all? their motivation behind this change. i am 100% confident the pure reason they're changing it is because "it used to work like that". they're adding or changing a lot of things to how it used to to cater to nostalgia and player indignation, even when it makes no sense or makes the game worse. for instance, the warlock community is quite mad that they nerfed pet cast times back to 6 sec with the old shitty cd to resummon it in .5 sec.
