I wonder why they keep announcing more mergers after they keep postponing the ones we already had.... were now at 9 announced mergers (7 in EU, 2 in US) and only 1 EU merger went through nearly 4 weeks ago (albeit with major problems)

Seems like the average playerbase is decreasing.
Merging realms to ensure people have others to play with / and see other people playing in various zones.

Or,. you know, hardware has improved, so the servers can simply support more people.

Tbh, if blizzard does announce a F2P mode (lower level, or max level no raids / limited amount of dungeons), I'd start to worry about the future of WoW.
Sure, It'd be great for casual players, but let's not forget that's the majority of the players who play wow.
Myself included,. the subscription is the main thing that's preventing me from bothering with WoW anymore.

Yes yes - you can play go farm gold, and the gold can be used to pay your subs,.
But then you're playing to grind, not to enjoy the game.

Not sure where you're getting this info from. We've had announcements of like 1 or 2 mergers for EU only.

Aman'thul-Anub'arak is the merger that went through...

there has only been 1 English EU merger announced so far, but they only make about 40% of the EU servers, and MMOC doesn't seem to report the non-english connections. Beyond the one already connected nearly a month ago, on EU there is (just listing 1 server from each previous group for simplicity sake)

I hope so, WoW should never be used as a PvP game, So it's better if those people look elsewhere for their fix.
