Blizzard Sends Shadowlands Alpha Testers Thank You Email
Alpha testers were sent an email by Blizzard thanking them for testing the Shadowlands Alpha. This email shows your personal stats for feedback and content testing along with certain Alpha-wide stats.

As some have noticed, we have Breaking News in the Battle.net App for WoW Classic that indicates a two-hour downtime for the content update along with the weekly raid reset tomorrow (July 29th EU).

We’re changing that to 30 minutes. We do need to make sure realms are down when the reset occurs, and we expect to finish our final checks for the content and see realms open to players at around 9:30 a.m. PDT / 12:30 p.m. EDT (9:30 CEST).

Some assorted minor changes in an upcoming build, just noting here:

–Convoke the Spirits can be channeled while moving, in all forms.

–Adaptive Swarm (damage swarm) will try to favor targets that have Moonfire or Rip active. It will not, however, merge/stack two swarms together if it can avoid it. The healing swarm was already pretty smart and there are no further changes to it right now.

–Bloodtalons: trigger changed from “use Shred, Rake, and Thrash” to “use any 3 different generators”. Continuing on from a lot of feedback on this, the goal is to make it more flexible, and cause fewer rotation clashes, while still requiring a moment of planning to trigger.

–Runecarve currently called Druid Runecarve 3 on beta (DoT/HoT tick rate): this was incomplete/ambiguous in the last build, but we are trying a version that compresses both tick rates and durations, taking from old abilities like Jagged Wounds and Glyph of Rapid Rejuvenation. That should be in and working next build for testing.

    The projected textures thing is such a joke, that they even let you turn that off is a crime since half their game is founded on the idea you seeing it.

    And while they are at it, they could maybe do something that prevents it and every other ground effect from breaking when they happen to be placed on a ramp..


    I might be a bit jaded here, but I kinda feel like the email is the result of them testing a new API .

    I got an email from Blizzard a bunch of times in the last few weeks, every single one of them was Thrall giving me the finger with troll face lol.

    Because that is how testing works, regardless of what anyone tests they get numbers they can use to tune or bug fixes for errors they get.

    At the most basic level they get the data they need to fix most things, then they need more data to tune even better and test more systems so they expand the test, the more people the better.

    I am guessing most people will get in within the last 2 weeks of Beta in October, since the game is clearly releasing close to Halloween.
