Shadowlands Beta - Night Fae Covenant Ability Update

Greetings, friends of the Queen.

In the next Beta build, we’ve made some changes to the Night Fae’s Signature Ability, Soulshape. These changes are aimed at addressing the feedback we’ve heard from you, and echoed in our own playtesting, that Soulshape simply doesn’t feel powerful enough.

  • Flicker – Soulshape’s teleport effect – now teleports you 15 yards forward (up from 10 yards).
  • Activating Soulshape will now immediately cast Flicker, teleporting you and putting Flicker on cooldown.
  • Soulshape now increases movement speed by 50% (up from 30%).

We’ve also fixed a number of issues with how Soulshape interacts with Druid shapeshift forms. For Druids, Soulshape will now behave like a real shapeshift form. If a Druid is in Cat Form and activates Soulshape, their action bar will change to the default bar instead of remaining on the Cat Form bar. Additionally, Soulshape will remember what form the Druid was in when activated, and return them to that form when Soulshape ends (unless the Druid manually activates a different Shapeshift). In this example, when Soulshape expires or is canceled, the Druid would automatically go back to Cat Form.

Thank you for your feedback thus far. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this update to Soulshape.

Also, not only is the signature ability pointless for Druids but so too is the covenant ability! Either make it a reliable cooldown or remove it.

I can't think of a situation where I would be like, "I need DPS and am going to use all my cooldowns, let me also use a 4 second channel of random spells that can heal me instead as a feral Druid."
Conversely, it can't be used by Guardian or Resto a survivability or healing cooldown.

CHANGE CONVOKE OR FEEL MY WRATH... moonfire and sunfire.
Didn't they chance the channel so that it prioritzies spells of your spec? They also changed the channel so you can move in between, which further improves the spell. It really seems that blizzard wants to make nightfae more attractive for druids. I still don't think the covenant ability is any useful though.

But then again I unfortunately have no beta access to test things out

You genuinely have no idea what you are talking about. The covenant ability is very powerful for all roles and forms of content at the moment. For feral druids you obtain 2-3 fully empowered ferocious bites and it makes use of blood talon stacks. Balance druids are getting about 4-5 starsurges. Resto druids are topping entire parties in M+. Not sure you understand what any of this means but there you go.

Eh, Fleshcraft at least has uses since the shield lasts for as long as the cooldown does. Summon Steward is pretty ass though.

Currently on the latest build Convoke the Spirits doesn't mention Ferocious Bite (it did in the last build), but I dunno if that's a tooltip error or not.

Convoke the Spirits is definitely strong though, especially now that you can move while channeling it.

Summon steward is not absolutely garbage if you follow specific soulbind paths. Theres a path that makes the health pots really strong and instantly activatable when you drop bellow 35% hp or something. I can see this being good for tanks.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The ability is based on the spec you are in. You are not going to be casting balance or healing spells as a kitty. Learn to read.
