Update: Shadowlands launch has been postponed from October 26 to later this year!

Upon entering the Shadowlands, Azeroth’s champions will encounter an otherworld in disarray. Virtuous souls are being wrongfully cast into the eternal darkness of the Maw, while the Covenants—powerful factions who hold dominion over the afterlife’s disparate realms—face ruin and strife as the flow of the Shadowlands’ essential anima mysteriously dwindles. As an ancient, long-bound evil gathers the strength to break its chains, players must carve their path through the uncharted reaches of the beyond, forge a pact with the Covenant that most aligns with their own principles and purpose—and ultimately restore balance to the hereafter.

None of the above are WoD 2.0. WoD is the only expansion Blizzard flat gave up on. BfA has its own problems different from WoD

I've been playing the beta. Unless they have a very polished internal build that hasn't been pushed to the beta servers, they are most definitely not doing "finishing touches and tuning" - they're dropping the monk rework next week. Rogues are still missing a talent. The zones are covered in placeholders and are lagging and dc-ing constantly.

It's not basically done. That's laughably untrue.

Well the raiding was superior to Legion for sure , some innovative shit , what we got in legion was all soak this , soak that , don't stand in this and don't stand on that + some stack and spread. Go refresh your memory from mogu vault to SoO on boss mechanics and see how it dwarfs Legion even on normal mode

Lol agreed. MoP was the only expansion I only leveled up and didn't play anymore. I had less than 6 days /played for MoP. By comparison, I had 40 days /played in Cata within 2 months of its release and over 200 days /played on BC and WOTLK. I think I had 70 days /played through Legion and probably 30 in BfA.

I actually wish Blizzard made it so I could tell my /played by year/expac now...

Honestly, the past several launches have been incredibly smooth.

This is just way to early. I was really hoping that they would delay it to early 2021 or at least late December, considering that there's still a lot of testing to be done. BFA was also released in a broken state and I just feel that SL will be even worse.

Honestly happy it's not a holyday release , can't wait to say goodbye to BFA

Torghast is....who the fuck knows at this point.

The zones barely even have music in at this point. No idea why they're rushing this.
    Wtf are you talking about?

Covenants are much more akin to Class Halls than Garrisons.

You can swap covenants as you wish, there's just work involved. They're not static for the whole expansion.

The zones are mostly complete on the PTR. Blizzard won't release without the essentials, which includes zone music.

Torghast has been on beta for months, has been well tested, and has been very well received.

Has your head been in the sand for the past 6 months?

The Legion and BfA launches were great from a technical standpoint, especially as compared to MoP and WoD. However, BfA was a buggy mess for months and months. I think that's what OP is referring to.

The classes were good, the raids were good, and hell, if you were raiding there was near zero reason to participate in the dailies.

I agree with you. I liked Legion to the point I wanted them to make Argus into a BC sized expansion and have us go there to dismantle the Legion and have the class halls and legendary weapons carry over. I played the BfA beta and remember thinking "I don't want Legion to end." First expansion I have ever played the beta of and thought that. Here we go again with covenants. :\

Other than the AP grind and legendary RNG/balance Legion was an outstanding expansion... as someone who got 2x worthless "utility" legendaries, I will say its was a pretty shit first 6+months though

This is way too early for the state of the beta and covenants but at least it's not launching around cyberpunk.
