Shadowlands Beta - Hunter Class Changes

Several fixes were made in the last week for harpoon. Where is it not currently working for you?
Focus regen should have been hotfixed last week, and the build that was pushed today should correctly have you at 5 Focus per second (before haste).

Which spells are asking for odd weapon requirements?

Will get Flayed Shot looked into. It should work with basically any weapon equpiped.

All things considered, the attempt to rearrange where Protection Holy Power comes from wasn’t enough of a win, given the general sense that Judgment feels a lot better when it generates. Total Holy Power generation should also be higher again in this build as a result.
  • Moved some mitigation from Shield of the Righteous to Consecration. This improves mitigation outside of Shield of the Righteous and makes damage less swingy.
  • Replaced Shining Light with Bastion of Glory (similar mechanic that existed in Warlords–Shield of the Righteous gives a stacking self-healing increase to Word of Glory). The role of the passive is the same–give Word of Glory a rotational cadence that gives it a clearly “better” time to use.

Divine Toll, when cast on a friendly target, should be behaving like a typical smart heal (as of today). It can heal anything, but will favor injured targets, and player targets.

Additionally, all instanced PvP maps now have a scaling aura active to simulate end-game item level.

I really hope Hunters have some changes coming soon, time is running out and they're really not in good spot with broken talents and abilities.

They are doing their next pass soon I am guessing, they seem to be trying their best this time around.

I really hate consecration as a mitigation mechanic, if you're constantly on the move it's such a bad design... For them to shift SotR damage reduction to consecration.. ugh

I can't believe these are honest questions from a Blizzard employee. These are not issues that you need extensive playing to come across. Focus generation was immediately obvious as soon as you hit anything, still took more than a week to get fixed. Harpoon works absolutely nowhere and was certainly not fixed last week. Tranq Shot asks you for an Axe for some reason. These are issues you would come across within 30 seconds by logging in and going to a target dummy. They are not broken in specific times or locations, they are broken everywhere and always. They have been at least since the PTR started.

It makes me wonder if there's absolutely no internal testing or if it's just preferential towards some specs. It's not like there's 200 specs in the game, if you wanted to test once every released build something as simple as "DO ALL THE SKILLS ACTUALLY WORK", that's something doable by one person in less than an hour. And even if they're relying exclusively on our feedback, we have been reporting things like that since day 1. How someone on the inside could genuinely reply in such a clueless and surprised tone is honestly beyond me. Some specs get their things fixed really quickly, some are getting large scale changes, and Survival is about to spend the entire testing period just begging for bug fixes on basic things so that any testing can be done.

THE BLUEPOST about SV is so scary, makes me feel like that the spec i like is totally invisible, and nothing will be done with it, will remain the same backwater dweller :/

Sigh... why... I swear... who even looks at tanks and understands their role?... let's remove the free heal every 18ish seconds cause, you know, paladin tanks have to give up things. You have the awesome awesome choice as a paladin to do damage, use active mitigation or heal. No other tank has to choose this, no other tank has to actively give up his active mitigation to self heal. And we need that stupid heal beacuse we don't have active mitigation controllable proper uptime. But no... let's put some damage reduction on consecration to make it "smoother". Good luck if yuou have a fight where you have to constantly move in less than 4s intervals. What other tank has this problem? What other tank is tied to something on the floor to survive? What other tank has to sacrifice damage AND heals to active mitigate? Or any other way around? What other tank has to sacrifice damage to be tanky?
What are paladin tanks anymore? We can't even heal others anymore cause the talent that allows us to heal others now brings NO benefit at all to the tank. So I'd give up an entire row just to heal others? Really? We used to be the tanks that block a lot... that is nowhere to be seen. What are we? The tanks that are good at what? Throwing a hand once in a while? Are we a "suuport tank" class?

I did almost immediately (I tried to, anyway). It was a new spell and I wanted to see if and how it worked. Where are you gonna test things if not on the Test Realm?

Q&A from just before BfA: https://www.wowhead.com/news=281275/...on-hazzikostas

Q: Is the removal of blink-type movement talents from Shaman and Druid from Datamining one of the class uniqueness removals?
A: Because it's described as a Blink-type movement, it kind of tells that it's a too much homogenization to a Mage's blink. Druids and Shaman have alwayus been about shapeshifting and moving faster. Blink is super fun and potent but they want to make other classes feel fun and potent in their own way.

For shadowlands everyone gets blinks abilities....
