Shadowlands Week 2 - What to Do
Today is the first reset since the launch of Shadowlands. Here is a quick overview of what you can do this week to prepare for the start of Season 1 and the opening of Castle Nathria.

    • Note - If you already unlocked Layer 3 in a wing last week you only need to do a layer 3 run in each wing this week for the max amount of Soul Ash.
  • You can earn 100 extra Soul Ash from a new quest offered by Bolvar to collect 10 souls within Torghast.
  • Wings
    • Fractured Halls
    • Mort'regar

Craft Your First Legendary
  • You can have a total of 1520 Soul Ash between last week and this week, with a small amount of extra if you managed to get some from your Adventure Table Missions.
  • To craft a rank 1 Legendary, you need the following:
    • The legendary recipe from obtaining the memory drop. Refer to the powers section of your adventure guide to find out where they drop.
    • The Base crafted piece obtained on the auction house or through crafting.
    • Missives to determine the stats of the legendary. These are also bought on the auction house of crafted by scribes.

Renown Weekly Quests
  • If you completed the initial campaign to unlock your Covenant sanctum and completed the weekly renown quest "Replenish the Reservoir" then you reached Renown Rank 3 with your covenant last week.
  • This week, you can reach Renown Rank 6 by completing both the "Replenish the Reservoir" to collect 1000 anima and "Return Lost Souls" to rescue 5 lost souls from the Maw. This will get you to Rank 5 and unlock the next chapter of your Covenant Campaign, which in turn will give you another Renown rank when you complete it.

Covenant Campaign Chapter 3
  • Upon reaching Renown rank 5 you will be able to continue the next chapter of your Covenant Campaign.
  • Completing this chapter will give you a renown rank and a cosmetic reward.
  • You will also unlock your 2nd soulbind by completing this chapter.

Oribos Weekly Quests
  • Be sure to pick up your two dungeon weekly quests for anima as well as the PvP weekly.
    • Dungeons
      • Sanguine Halls
      • Plaguefall
    • PvP
      • 1500 Honor in Epic Battlegrounds

Mythic Dungeon World Tour
  • With reset, all mythic dungeons can be completed again this week for a chance at 184 item level gear!

It’s honestly doable in that time if you did one of those things a day - it’s how I’ve been able to keep up with this week with working 12 hour days.

Thats not a lot to do for a game with a subscription fee to be honest. I think i have more things to do in Genshin Impact right now. Just how much is being staggered for later and how much is gating to make it seem like theres a lot more reasons to keep subbed?

    You're lying.
Whatever helps you justify not being able to meet a barely off the ground bar.

    So much complaining over nothing.

1,000 anima WEEKLY. Can do a few sets of dailies a day that will take 30minutes~ (also can get anima from dungeons, BG first wins, Arena first wins etc)
Torghast WEEKLY. (even if you miss a week you will be a few ilvl behind on one item. Legendary effect is still the same?)
Maw of the jailer - Weekly
    Farm Conduits for spec ONCE
    Legendary for pve/pvp ONCE

    Anything else is optional.

    Maw for sockets - Optional
    Callings for rep/gold/anima/gear - Optional
    Cov buildings - Optional

Almost everything has a catchup system iirc except for torghast soul ash which is like 1-2 hours a week.

Compared to most other systems... this is really low requirements... I think people are psyching themselves out. Only way this is a lot is if you are trying to do it all in one day. Spread it out a bit by bit and pick what matters for you...

Most of this stuff isn't "required". I have ignored the world quests for the most part and missed some emissary chests (all they drop is grey vendor items anyway), have only done maw dailies like twice, and I'm not "behind". I'm ilv 172 before doing this week's mythic dungeons with my guild and I've mainly just been farming battlegrounds and getting honor gear & upgrading select pieces. The weekly anima can easily be acquired by doing daily heroic dungeon, daily battleground, weekly battleground chest, and doing a few of the mission tables on your phone. It's really not that bad.

The rep vendors don't even offer stuff that is that good anyway so I don't see a rush to get those up.

People complaining about "mandatory stuff" just probably aren't even playing the game.

This expansion litterally has the least amount of stuff you NEED to do. This Torghast takes 1h per WEEK if you only get the ash you want. The renown is basicly automatically gained by doing the covenant campaign, the actualy story of the expansion.... There are no reps that you NEED to farm at all. There is no AP like BFA...

The list above can be done in half a day and you have a full week to do it.

And again, nothing is mandatory. Anything that you think is mandatory is on you.
I would say there are only mandatory things IF you raid mythic early on.
So you would rather go back to a time when you were bored AF and just sat in town 70% of the time you were logged in? Not to mention before lfg you would be spending 30 to 40 mins minimum just trying to get a group for an instance. No thx...

Where do we pick up the dungeon quests in Oribos?

Everything needs to take longer and needs to be repetitive in a way. In such games you long time "work" on your character. But if that is not your cup of tea (anymore), mine isn't as well. Just look around there are other kinds of games that provide this "I just want to hop in and have some fun" feeling you want. WoW is way beyond its pinnacle already, it became a game left for the people who are still truly into it. It's fine to move on, i did as well. I am still around on MMO-Champ because i am still kinda interested in the direction the game takes and how well it fares in general, but i am just out of playing it.
This. I quit wow in WOD, but stuck around the various websites because the game took up a lot of my free time from vanilla to WOD. It's a hard habit to quit, but I'm okay with it. I got the beta for SL, and just determined that MMOs aren't for me, anymore. Jaded? Cynical? Maybe. And I'm okay with that too. MMOs have always been "fill the bar" one way or another, and I'm just not into it anymore. Once you get past leveling, it's all make-work to me. If you're okay with that, fine. Go do it, have fun.

The game didn't change. I did. And i would rather spend my free time doing something more meaningful with my free time and spare cash. What Ion and his crew consider entertainment isn't the same as what i do. So I didn't buy their product. Simple as. No anger, no resentment, just pass.

I think the fascination for me is seeing a company succeed while failing at the same time.

It did feel overwhelming to me too at the start. But once I got that chunk of stuff out of the way from first hitting 60 it's not so bad now.

So the catch-up system isn't in place yet, eh? Been stuck at Renown 3 all week after changing covenants. No extra drops. No extra quests. About 45 dungeons done (farming for a Leggo).

They've struck a perfect balance if we have people complaining about nothing to do and too much to do. Surely you see this.

Oke for some reason with a full time job and extra hours its also pretty easy but i guess if you are a bit slow it can be a struggle
