In-Game Advertising Policy Update
Ghormor from the Azeroth Sales Community has shared on reddit how advertising in-game lead to one of his accounts getting permanently suspended, losing over 100 million gold due to an unannounced rule change.

Blizzard has recently updated their In-Game Advertising Policy, adding that accounts used primarily for advertising may be closed at any time. According to Ghormor, his account was used for raid collections, banking and auction house monitoring, but still received a suspension before that rule was even added to the policy page. You can find the full story on reddit.

Selling items and services for gold is allowed but can only be advertised in-game through the Trade chat channel. Advertisements are not allowed in the Group Finder. The Group Finder is intended to help players find active groups that are being formed and advertisements make it difficult to find relevant groups.

Accounts that are used for the primary purpose of advertising may be closed.

Subcreation
Subcreation has been updated for Shadowlands. Using the Raider.IO and WarcraftLogs API, Subcreation shows summaries of the top talents, covenants, soulbinds, conduits, legendaries, gear, enchants and gems that players use in Mythic+ and Castle Nathria.

It was never said It's not a matter of "no one cares" - rather, "there's nothing to celebrate here, stop pretending like there is."

We can get into the bigger discussion of Classic being the same thing as vanilla, except Classic is really a "safe space" and not really as competitive as everyone claims it to be.

I think the point the person you are quoting is trying to say is just because the game got "rereleased" does not mean that every time someone gets XYZ item or kills XYZ boss that it counts as a "world first" or similar title. This is essentially a "private" server, just run by the 1st party instead of a 3rd party team.

Yeah, okay...if the word "Congratulations" ticked people off so much....

I mean...we still celebrate our birthdays...although they only occurred once when we were born and everything after is technically an anniversary of that birthday...so I am totally up for nitpicking and being anal about meanings etc. People totally loved it back then when I kept pointing out that 2000 didn't mean a new millennium started

What's the ruling on Twitch advertising in LFG? I've always thought it to be the same so I've just wanted them all gone
I report those also. it's advertising.

using LFG for spamming sales is not a new rule, they said that way back over a year ago.

It's not in reference to using the Group Finder tool at all. The issue was with regards to the activity of an account overall, particularly with advertising (e.g. only ever doing boosting ads in trade chat).

They gave the guy getting Aeitish a KT weapon? Lol..haha guess fuck everyone else in that guild.

I m glad they ban this guy. Its very annoying to spam for boosting in LFG and also they must do it on trade chat . They must put a mechanism if we report someone to slow him for 1 like per 3-4mins because it make me crazy. Check the full servers to see the trade chat is only for paid boosting and run so fast.

    Congratulations for the Atiesh .

So someone got banned for spamming advertisements outside of Trade chat and we are meant to be surprised or feel bad for the loser?

I think the point was that spamming ads outside of Trade was actually authorized when he did it. They permabanned him, and then later the policy was updated to state it's not authorized.
But of course, it always was shitty behaviour.
