WoW half dead (or dead compared with its peak)

So... what can we expect from the first hour (opening) from the whole show? A lot of "we acheived blabla, we did blabla, we good blabla" a little bit of "it was a hard year blabla" and then try to make all their fails look good or try to make it look like those never happened.
Old Blizzard is officially dead, the day "Team 1" was disbanded.
WoW gets worse and worse because less and less people play the game and they get less ressources, well the designers still do a fricking awesome job but the gameplay devs are just bad and clearly dont care about the game. The most promising feature was Thorgast but they they decided to make changes which ruined it.

The best thing we can hope for Blizzard to announce is a release date for Diablo Immortal and them telling us that OW 2 is coming in summer 2022 in worst case we just get the Diablo Immortal announcement.... Blizzard quality 2021.
And people wonder why many of us don't treat whiners seriously. This isn't even cohesive post, this is just hate diarrhea.

Imagine calling game that breaks sales record every two years "half dead". I repeat: every. two. years. So it's not marketing team that hypes people for nothing.

He is dead wrong on wow. wow is a success, atleast when it comes to income for ActiBlizz. Didnt they set sale and income records from wow in 2020?

I dont understand why so many people need to have wow dead. It wouldnt change anything if it died down or keeps going on strong. I have unsubbed when wows been VERY popular and I have kept playing when its been unpopular over the years. Personally it never effects me. I decide to play or not. Salenumbers dont decide that.

With that said - All the other IPs they have are somewhat haltering. What they will show for Overwatch will be a big thing. Thats gonna be a success.
Sadly they have left behind SC(I love that game still and play it). 2021 is not the year for RTS either.

I've said it many times before, but I would love for Blizzard to give us something new. Especially now when it looks like wow is the only IP that is a success. they still live off what the Blizzard of old made. I want them to dare into something new.

Look man, I love bashing Activision and claiming the ol' Blizzard is dead as much as the next person, however saying that "WoW gets worse and worse because less and less people play the game" when that's FACTUALLY inaccurate invalidates your whole rant. And this is an admission coming from someone who's been playing since Warcraft II.

Imo Kel'Thuzad would be perfect for next megadungeon, imagine Necropolis flying all over Shadowlands with some open world content around it. For raid next logical step is saving Anduin from Maw, it's likely to be Sylvanas raid.
dont forget about the "under construction" portal spot in the org main portal room. thats going to have to lead somewhere too.

There were systems panels, class panels, lore panels, art panels. Good stuff. And the devs back then had a sense of humor and didn't take themselves too seriously. To be honest, every Blizzcon after the WoD announcement was a letdown.

    Look at this for example

(1 hour) with the legendary "Red Shirt Guy" at 24:35. Can you imagine a panel like this nowadays? The real shame is that Ion participated in these panels back in the day. He knows what is possible. He knows the players enjoyed these panels.
sorry buddy, but your sig saying i miss pandaria makes everything you say automatically not valid. lol.

I sort of understand where he is coming from. I mean didn't they say that the arrival of Classic tripled sub numbers? That alone suggests that Retail isn't the giant it used to be and WoW needs Classic very much.

Why? What's wrong with Pandaria? It came with a new class (with 3 specs)and a race. Was the last game before all the stupid pruning, had no dumb borrowed power gimick, gave you side content you are not obligated to play but totally can and from the starting zone onward. And it had a continent with actual fleshed out lore.
I understand that a lot of people get constipation when they think of how their totally western and super serious game with no animal people gets Pandas that don't fight unless they absolutely have to, but it really was A+ compared to what we had after it.

First,, my comment was a joke. 2nd pandaria is my least favorite time during all of wow. I didn't like any of the raids, they weren't fun or memorable to me. Cut the anti Eastern themed crap. I am no weeb, but i enjoy Asian themed... well everything.. from time to time. But most importantly to me... it had a Farmville daily thing for cooking.

There was two raids I enjoyed quite a bit out of MoP even tho I was late to that expansion. Heart of Fear. I enjoy Old Gods and I really enjoyed the Klaxxi. Throne of Thunder. The latter I had loads of fun doing. (I really enjoyed the isle too) I thought they were pretty fun raids but that's just me.

Farmville? I appreciated the Harvest Moon shout outs at the little farm. Like the Blue feather. I felt like the farm was a bit tiny but it was a nice add on. The market right near it was always bumping and that was always nice. I personally really enjoyed the Anglers too. Also the World boss tours with each world boss having potential to drop a mount. Use to que up with a bunch of people in 0que, it was fun traveling around the continent with everyone trying to get a mount.

MoP definitely had a lot of strong points but that's just how I feel.

Lol, 0,5 hour "deep dive"... what the actual fuck.

I remember Blizzcons where we had multiple 1 hour panels for classes, dungeons and raids, systems, lore, art, professions etc.
Give me a break. What kind of "deep dive" can you possibly do within half an hour.... I'm glad it's free this year. Last time I paid for a virtual ticket was really not worth the money.

Lol, we already had cow people, wolf people, goat people, that's not animal people?

Back in the 2009-2013, the devs looked like they had fun doing Blizzcon and talking to people. These guys seem to hate the players.

This is why I've not watched anything other than the opening ceremony/esports in like a decade. Now everything is just super sterile & boring, so if there's not an announcement worth a damn, the whole experience is just "bleh."

He's not wrong, the only reason why WoW is even doing remotely doing well in 2019/2020 was classic saved the cluster cluck that was BFA. So far SL isn't doing too well ether but better than BFA. If nothing is done to fix the issues in SL it will just be a BFA 2.0 and the only thing thats gonna save the sub number count AGAIN is something like classic TBC.

yeah alot of people disliked BfA. I stopped playing SL few weeks ago, but i'll reserve my opinion on it until later part of the xpac.

Nevertheless, wow as a franchise rakes in money every year. If its retail, classic, classic bc, whatever - they make money. They also earned ALOT of money from retail last year, not just subs.

People can dedicate theyre life on hating wow, wanting it to tank and die. It wont really change anything though, cause the francise is doing quite well. Probably better than what alot of ppl on this forum likes. Feels like alot of people here REALLY want wow to die and shut down. I bet many here would scream of joy if such a thing were to happen. For some reason. Like it really matters one way or another for them.

I don't see any "next". All I see is three persons having a nostalgia trip.

They should have called it World of Warcraft: What's Past.

So starcraft 2 and heroes of the storm are officially abandoned? Is there anyone playing these games now? are there division leagues there?

Looking at the diablo 3 changes, what is the difference between WoW and diablo?

I kinda like that they will add controller support for diablo immortals.
