The Burning Crusade Classic Beta Has Begun!

Players selected to participate in the beta test will receive an email invitation directing them to download the beta client directly from the Battle.net desktop app. As always, please be aware of phishing attempts—if you’re unsure whether your invitation is legitimate, please log in to your Battle.net account to verify that there is a Burning Crusade Classic beta license attached (under Your Game Accounts).

Getting Started

If you’ve been selected to participate in the beta test, your Battle.net account will already be flagged for access.

  • Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
  • Run the Battle.net desktop app—it may need to update itself if you haven’t run it recently. If you don’t have the app installed, get started here.
  • Once Battle.net is installed and updated, select World of Warcraft from the list of games.
  • In the Game Version drop-down menu above the Play button, choose the Burning Crusade (listed under In Development), then click Install.
  • Allow installation to complete, click Play and select any of the available Test Servers.
  • Create a new test character or copy over a character from your live WoW Classic account using the Copy Character button.
  • Enter the game and test the content.

If you have issues installing and operating the Burning Crusade beta, please check our Common Technical Issues and Solutions to begin troubleshooting.

Providing Feedback

We’d love to hear about your experiences in Burning Crusade Classic, so once you’ve had a chance to play, please send us your feedback on the Burning Crusade Classic beta forums.

  • PvP content is not available for testing at this time.
  • The use of third-party addons is disabled.

We will update this thread as we change the configuration of the test environment.

To test 13 year old code running on the legion engine?
Hardcore=paying every month for 14 years. But has far as raiding goes wrath to cata i was hardcore raiding on Proudmore ally with Premonition. Quit raiding after cata.

Obviously, they confuse "practicing" with testing.

    Hit me up in PM.
Depends on how good you are at it. Do you play the game, and write a bug once it happens, or do you try forcing bugs? I'd assume very few actually do the latter.

I think you should apply for game testing position rather than wait someone to PM you Big companies do have paid testers in their quality assurance teams.

Oh, I thought this was a public job opening, since "inviting opt-in beta testers" was mentioned in the post.

Clear instruction were given on how to test and give feedback, but no information on payment for my work were mentioned. Wanted to clarify.

I'm sure I'll not get into a beta again after I was temp banned on the forums for responding to a post about someone mentioning that a legendary item shouldn't have the base item crafters name on it. I responded with "What you don't like the idea of wearing *insert legendary item of ultimate power* -crafted by masterdebaiter-" This for a game with everything from shit jokes to corpses strung upside down, and I'm sure there is a master baiter fishing joke somewhere too.

Reminds me of the time I got temp banned in battlefield 3 I think for repeating verbatim what your character says when getting shot at.

from all the people i have talked to it currenly seems like ONLY friends/family, and content creators.
i have yet to meet anyone who was "randomly" invited, so be sure when they do it will likely be soon.
the servers CONSTANTLY dropped today anyways so guess they are fine tuning it.

Go on to Twitch and watch those streamers there are some bugs floating around. I watched like 30 minutes total from 3 streamers what I saw was graphical glitches, aoe cap not working as intended, some problem with mana regen and they talked about have been reporting more bugs but I didn't see them.

I dont understand how can people complain about streamers getting the beta. They are one of the most fit to get beta. They 100% will play the game a lot, they will test and report things and through them a lpt of ppl can enjoy the beta.

lol, the moarg in hellfire have weird textureless parts, change in size randomly and instantly, and also sometimes are just invisible.

pets of mobs you out-ranged evading but continuing to attack you and never stopping to you die
(Had a wolf on me from a fel orc i ran from, it just kept hitting me for 10 minutes before i gave up and llife tapped to death)

do you have your profile on the website set to "invite me to all wow betas"
Cause you likely never turned that off.

the "opt in" is only for specific ones.

You got it all kinds of backwards, this is offering you the privilege to play the beta before the game comes out. Testing for bugs is a nice bonus for blizzard, but the betas have always been more of a marketing strategy than an official testing procedure. They won't pay you to do it because they want YOU to pay, that's the entire point.

Why would someone play and pay for a buggy game, and do work for free?

That is the exact premise behind early access games. The idea for those is you get insight into the studios development process by playing the game early while volunteering help with bugs. Although I guess you don't need to be subbed in order to opt into this beta, but you usually do for retail betas I believe.
