I like how literally nobody cares about the arena esportz, lol.
Even news with literally 1 line of hotfixes got atleast several comments.

    EDIT:
8k viewers on YT atm... and 80% of ppl spamming #soloq.
    This is so bad.

Totally agree. All I can do is look at the advert and think to myself "these are the jack off they ruined my game for. So they can feel like they accomplished something in life". /shrug

The spam is hilarious The low viewcount as well really.

I really don't get what goes on in their heads to continue pushing this, surely they can't be making that much money off it

Its just not fun to watch people get one shot. Even the commentators just don't know what to say since the game is so broken.

I think the problem with wow arena as a Esport is that most people cant relate to what they see and what the players do.

First off - theres often times so much going on people have no chance to understand what actually happens until after commentators have explained it. By that point, you have lost "the moment" and people lose interest.

Second - Its a clear difference in what gear these Esports players have in tourneys compared to what the average joe has in game. People might watch this and think "yeah, im gonna log in and try that!" only to realise they gotta spend X hours on farming gear just to be competetive at all. So people will spend many hours getting roflstomped without having a chance trying to do what the pros do+ try to find someone to play with.

In other big esports games everyone is the same. They pick the same heroes with same loadout and all. Only difference is the players skill. So people get to see what can be done and try to copy it. You really cant do that in wow from the get go.

God the fucking faces in these thumbnails. you can't make grown men playing elves and orcs casting spells and whiffleballin' each other with swords seem intense like its bloody UFC. Even the mmo audience knows that so what is the thinking behind them? "You've been ganked in stangelthorn but THESE ARE THE BIG DAWGZ of a 2004 hotbar mmorpg TIME TO GRAB A MON-STAR AND GRIP AND RIP IT AS THESE SICK BROS BATTLE EACH OTHER from tiny booths clicking their gamer mice and occasionally moving away from a pillar". Kind of mixed signals here.

WoW Arena is incredibly boring to watch. Hell, most of WoW is incredibly boring to watch. This is a "have to play" game.

It actually gets worse... if you play wow pvp at higher ratings you learn that most fights are almost formulaic. There are certain X times that matter and the rest of the match is effectively padding.

It just isn't an esports game.

Solo queue is the worst idea ever pushed by the community and I hope they never add it. It’s an MMO there’s supposed to be social interaction. In fact the next best thing they could do is remove LFR.

As usual, a bunch of people who do not pvp post negative comments about wow tournaments... Just move on, let others have their fun.

What aspect of social interaction gets lost? I press join in the group finder, get accepted and we start queuing. No word was spoken. No social aspect. Nothing. I don't see any difference to soloq at all.

But hey you probably don't do any meaningful content anyway.

Dude, I don't mean to kick it while it's down but these thumbnails are hilarious. I love how they just plant some nerdy dude's face and have a cartoony stylized night elf on the other side. Is this supposed to look cool or are they trying to make me laugh?

To clarify though I'm not making fun of the dude, he's probably just an average arena player etc. It's more the ridiculousness of it all, it feels like they're legitimately trying to make WoW Esports be taken dead seriously and I can't handle it.

This. Im a main PvP player on a good average level (mostly 2k-2,2k each season in rbg/arenas) so i know what is happening, but its boring to watch. They using Cds and are like "afk" until the CDs are off again. You know that mostly noone will die, cause they know how to play and just die cause 40%+ dampening. Boring.

And as someone who doesnt know much about PvP you dont just get what is happening, there is no good cameraangle or scoreboards, that telling you how plays better.

For Viewers its just a boring mess and the worst part about it you see the same comps/strategys over and over again. There are like 3-4 Metacomps + RMP and thats it.

Yeah like, remove LFR, but add SoloQ.

In 2021 nobody cares about social interaction in an old game as WoW, those times were in vanilla and the early expansions. Nowdays stuff must happen quickly. When i log into any of my chars i want to instantly have arena and rbg matches, i do not want to wait all day or friends to go online at a specific time.

Worst case scenario: Vou want to play some RBGs and you are alliance and you need to allign your CR with those of 9 others CR, good luck in doing that. You are going to spent your time in the LFR the whole day just for a few games and chances are high that most people leave after just 1 loss, after hours of waiting.

SoloQ is a good thing, for RBGs and i bet for arenas as well, this will break the dominance of strong metas, finally. Its sure is fun to only see paladins, mages and rogues each game. Unbalanced stuff just became organized cancer.

Seriously who plays this game for pvp? PvP is so much better in any strategy title you have much more game modes how to play pvp and its more balanced to control an army with multiple units.

I play strategy rts and tbs games online in pvp for over 20+ years now, whats so interesting to organize setups for hours to only see them fall apart at a certain rating? Its just cringe.

Push faction vs faction, push those random and normal bgs and 40vs40 more, push that stuff everyone can have access to, push warmode rewards, put in soloq for arena and rbgs and i guraantee anyone, pvp will be taken more seriously in wow in terms of participation and having fun.

All it takes are some developers that have some balls.

Its not hard to do all of that at all.......does not require to design huge development time to create new raids, zones and dungeons, but will result in a game more alive due to the replayability of easy to access pvp game modes, even if every class is super unbalanced, it does matter little as long as every class brings something unique and powerful, if only a few classes have the whole package and others not, there is a problem for that class and the particular class needs buffing.

You know a game is half-dead, that pushes esport pvp and does not even have active pvp lead designers.

People negatively reacting to AWC are the same crowd that needed help with flappy bird quest that bliz had recently hotfixed. No wonder you can't follow arena games...

EVERYTHING IS A BAD IDEA if you let the community decide how the game goes. Some will like it and some will hate it. Who cares. Move on with your life

That is what I was thinking. Strange how people hate something but they LOVE to talk about it sooooooooooooo damn much.

I have the feeling that BC arena will call far more attention than retail.

PvP is in such a poor state, is not even fun.
