Patch 9.1 PTR - Korthia Zone Preview
Korthia is a new zone added to the Maw in 9.1 where a bulk of the outdoor content will be taking place. It is relatively the size of Nazjatar, possibly a bit smaller. This is the city of secrets, with lots of architecture seen in Oribos.

compare it more so to... have we had any new zones in .1 patches?

Only one i can think of is 5.1 had the slight rework to krasarang wilds, adding those 2 new towns.

yeah no .1 patch has had a new zone.
it's also taking siginificantly longer than any previous .1 patch and is including the new raid tier and a mega dungeon, its a .1 patch with the content of a .2 patch, which is cool except it is taking just as long a .2 patch should take, with nothing in between.

I am assuming these pictures don't do it justice. All I see are dead trees and rocks. I'm assuming the city of secrets actually has a "city" part right?

I like the color scheme, looks like a place not completely overtaken by the maw, like it's on it's last legs.

Or do you mean, Ardenweald? Other than having trees, there's very little in common. But I guess Elwynn Forest, Desolace, Feralas, Sholozar etc are all "lookalikes of Ardenweald" because they have trees.

So sorry for the misspell, but no. Not jus because it has tree's, it seems very underwhelmed. This is suppose to be a major patch and they just hired a person who learned photoshop online and blend everything together.

The zone is not just all blue, there are zones where stuff is just this same color.

Was expecting more. And starting to feel like a fool for it, at this point.

The zone provides an interesting concept (subjecting another zone), but doesn't develop a uniqueness that makes a player say "Woah, this is different."

There is not much that is thematically or artistically compelling. Yes, some of the assets look good - but the overall theme just feels like a water down Oribos and Ardenweald.

All that said, given this is an X.1 patch, eh - I'll wait and see.

As a .1 its fine, thats about it, but I have to tell myself not to judge it like a .2 considering the time it has taken.

Nope they're toxic when everything out of their mouth is vitriol and screaming because it isn't what THEY wanted.

At least Nazjatar was unique. This is just a sub-section of the maw, with some trees and stuff.

Stop saying covid. Other games were impacted by it and haven't shown the degree of slowdown as this has. HOWEVER, the wildfires were actually impacting the area where a lot of the employees live which COULD be a difference between that and other games. It's not covid though and that excuse needs to stop. Any company worth anything had their employees working from home if they could and actually saved money in the long run on building maintenance costs.

Yes they have though, ff14 literally had one of its patches delayed because of it dude. as have pretty much all games been delayed because of it. atleast AAA as those were effected by it.
and working from home is no where near as easy.
    also yeah the wildfires too.

also it ends up costing more, especially since they also need to keep the entire campus still in shape, they cant just sell it or let it run down while everyones gone.

I hope you're right because based of these screenshots don't inspire much confidence in this patch.
