Allied Races
Nightborne can now customize their hands with a glow effect.
Developers’ note: The glow effect is in progress and only available on female Nightborne this week. The new customization option will be available on male Nightborne on a later PTR build.
Developers’ note: The PTR character copy may result in characters looking different while we work to hook up the new customizations.
Covenants Anima Conductor
Anima can now be channeled to all unlocked locations each day (was one each day).
Dungeons and Raids
Timewalking
Defeating Timewalking raid bosses will now also provide credit towards the Timewalking weekly quests, “A Burning Path Through Time,” “A Frozen Path Through Time,” and “A Shattered Path Through Time.”
Pet Battles
Ultimate Battle-Training Stones now cost 35 Polished Pet Charms (was 60).
Player versus Player
Mage
Triune Ward (Runecarving Power) now provides 35% barrier effectiveness in PvP combat (was 50%).
Professions
Mining ore drop rates across all zones, including Elethium Ore, increased by 20%.
Callous Hide and Heavy Callous Hide drop rate increased by 20%.
Jewelcrafting Essence drop rate increased by 10%.
Lightless Silk drop rate has been increased by 20%.
User Interface and Accessibility
The “PvP talent is available” helptip will now only appear in War Mode and PvP instances.
Several emotes have been adjusted:
Drool, cough, burp, fart, whistle, spit, and moon no longer change when used while targeting a player.
Pounce and groan have been adjusted when used while targeting a player.
4 new emotes have been added – Huzzah, magnificent, impressed, and wince.
Kick, stink, shake, and moan have been removed.
Developers’ note: Some of these emotes seem to have harmless intentions at a glance, but when used while targeting another player, their intentions can turn unexpectedly suggestive or intrusive. We’ve made adjustments to these emotes with negative connotations towards another player, while also adding a few new ones.

However, while we can’t guarantee the behavior of any specific addon, it’s possible that addons currently supported in Burning Crusade Classic will now work for Classic Era. Addon authors should be able to make that determination for their specific addons.
Regarding camera and targeting issues, we suggest that you check your interface options for Camera Following Style (Esc/Interface Options/Camera) and Sticky Targeting (Esc/Interface Options/Controls). These may have changed from the setting you were expecting.
If you continue to experience issues, please report them in our Bug Report forum.

The 2021 Arena World Championship Finished with an Incredible Grand Finals!

The Arena World Championship (AWC) Grand Finals came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, September 26 as Method NA and Horizon secured their spots as the 2021 Regional Champions!
After two incredible seasons, AWC concluded 2021 with some of the most thrilling Arena matches we have seen in it’s storied fourteen-year history. Horizon secured the EU Regional title while Method NA retained the NA title, with each winning team taking home gold medals as well as $70,000 (USD) each out of the $300,000 global prize pool.
The 2021 Grand Finals represented the best of what AWC truly is. While on the surface, the Arena World Championship is a chance for top pvp teams to compete on a public stage, at its core AWC is a celebration of a highly skilled and nuanced element within World of Warcraft. David Hollings, Product Lead for WoW Esports, summed it up perfectly: “AWC is not only a competitive means for arena, but also a place where many can feel they belong.” This past weekend viewers experienced everything from anxiety to heartbreak to euphoria, all while watching it as a shared community.
EUROPE
In what was the second reverse-sweep of the day, Horizon claimed victory after defeating Method EU 4-3! Horizon went into the Grand Final seemingly invincible, having beat Skill Capped 3-0 in the Semifinal, shortly after their initial defeat over Method EU in the first round, 3-1.
As one of the favorites to win the whole tournament, to say Method EU went into the final match with a grudge to settle would be an understatement. Following their loss to Horizon, they started Day 2 facing Reload Esports in the Elimination match, in which they squeaked by with a 3-2 victory. Method EU seemed to be finished in the Semifinal when Skill Capped quickly took the first two games; however, they rallied and through increasingly tense games they pulled-off a reverse-sweep to finish with another 3-2. Going into the Grand Final, Method EU seemed to be on a role as they took Horizon to match point. In a shocking turn, Horizon rallied to finish the day with four straight games to claim the Regional title!
We asked Kasu how the team rallied in the face of near defeat at the hands of one of the strongest teams in AWC history:
“First of all, we had a very big problem with the fact that the Method team was incredibly good at cross-control of our entire team. After we lost 0-3, we decided to think about how to reduce the time of control on our team and how we can prevent them from controlling our entire team for such a long time, and surprisingly we decided to try to play a little differently in terms of the hunter's game. All I can say is that we didn't give up. It is better to communicate between each other and win, and fortunately we managed to win [in] this final arena versus Method EU. We want to convey from our entire team gratitude to all those who supported us all this way, many thanks to the people who really supported us and worried.”
NORTH AMERICA
Method NA, the powerhouse team that secured the title in Season 1, scored a yet another championship after defeating Golden Guardians 4-1 in the Grand Final match. Heading into the tournament, Method NA was seemingly unstoppable with a 20-5 record, best across both regions, in Season 2. This momentum showed no signs of slowing as they started the weekend with a 3-0 defeat of Golden Guardians, followed by a 3-1 victory over their Season 1 final rivals, Cloud9. The Grand Final saw them face off once more against Golden Guardians, winning 3-1 to claim yet another AWC championship!
While this marks the end of AWC’s 2021 competitions, WoW Esports still has a lot of action left to finish out the year. This weekend Mythic Dungeon International concludes its Season 2 regular season with the Last Stand Tournament, followed by the 2021 Global Finals October 29-31. We can’t wait to share what is in store for both AWC and MDI in 2022, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and subscribe to YouTube to be the first to know!

In this thread there has been passionate feedback for Nightborne to have the hand glow effect that is seen on some Nightborne NPCs. We loved the idea after reading your feedback and have been looking into the feasibility of bringing that option to Nightborne character customization. The hand glow effect is a bit more involved and has taken some finessing to figure out due to its unique nature, but we’ve gotten a good grasp on it. In this week’s PTR build, we’ll be bringing a version of this as a new customization option to Nightborne females for testing, with the male hand glow coming in a later PTR build.
The glow effect is a unique customization option and a work in progress, please let us know what you think after testing out the new option on your Nightborne.

Fixed an issue where gladiators in the Halls of Might could sometimes remain immune to player abilities after finishing their duel.
Burning Crusade Classic
[With realm restarts] Spell Haste now lowers the global cooldown (GCD) to a minimum of 1.0 second (was 0.75 seconds).
Developers’ note: This hotfix is intended to bring the behavior of the GCD in line with version 2.4.0 of Burning Crusade, which the gameplay conditions of Burning Crusade Classic 2.5.2 are based on. Due to a bug in the original 2.4.0 code, players with high Spell Haste in original Burning Crusade were sometimes able to cast certain spells less than second apart, and they would also sometimes be delayed to over a second, based on how their actions were lining up with the server’s tick rate. We've decided that the fairest and most accurate thing we could do is to replicate the intent of the original game and enforce that Spell Haste cannot reduce the GCD below 1.0 second.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 27, 2021-- Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI) today confirmed that, as part of its effort to have the most welcoming, inclusive workplace, it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to settle claims and to further strengthen policies and programs to prevent harassment and discrimination in the company’s workplace. Under the agreement, the principal terms of which are summarized in Attachment A to this press release, Activision Blizzard has committed to create an $18 million fund to compensate and make amends to eligible claimants. Any amounts not used for claimants will be divided between charities that advance women in the video game industry or promote awareness around harassment and gender equality issues as well as company diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, as approved by the EEOC. The agreement is subject to court approval.
The company also announced an initiative to develop software tools and training programs to improve workplace policies and practices for employers across the technology industry.
Commenting on the agreement, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said: “There is no place anywhere at our company for discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment of any kind, and I am grateful to the employees who bravely shared their experiences. I am sorry that anyone had to experience inappropriate conduct, and I remain unwavering in my commitment to make Activision Blizzard one of the world’s most inclusive, respected, and respectful workplaces.”
Kotick added: “We will continue to be vigilant in our commitment to the elimination of harassment and discrimination in the workplace. We thank the EEOC for its constructive engagement as we work to fulfill our commitments to eradicate inappropriate conduct in the workplace.”

Upgrading policies, practices, and training to further prevent and eliminate harassment and discrimination in its workplaces, including implementing an expanded performance review system with a new equal opportunity focus;
Providing ongoing oversight and review of the Company’s training programs, investigation policies, disciplinary framework and compliance by appointing a third-party equal opportunity consultant whose findings will be regularly reported to our Board of Directors as well as the Commission.
Attachment A Summary of Agreement
Below is a summary of the principal terms of the agreement with the EEOC, which is subject to approval by the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Creation of an $18 million fund, with any amounts not used for claimants divided between contributions to non-profit organizations whose mission involves advancing women in the video game and tech sectors or who promote awareness around sexual harassment and gender equality and further investments in diversity and inclusion efforts at the Company that go beyond what we agreed to with the EEOC, all as approved by the EEOC.
The Company will upgrade policies, practices, and training to prevent and eliminate harassment and discrimination in the workplace, including implementing an expanded performance review system with a new equal opportunity focus;
The Company will engage a neutral, third-party equal employment opportunity consultant – a non-employee who must be approved by the EEOC – who will provide ongoing oversight of the Company’s compliance with the agreement. This independent consultant’s findings will be reported directly to the EEOC and Activision Blizzard’s Board of Directors; and
The Company will hire an internal EEO Coordinator with relevant experience in gender discrimination, harassment, and related retaliation to assist the Company and the neutral, third-party EEO consultant with implementation of the agreement’s requirements.
Except as otherwise noted in the agreement, its terms will remain in effect for three years from its effective date.
